This makes no sense to me. The process didn't seem to generate much publicity nor any increased brand or model awareness, and the discounted price of the number one special prima edizione would not help establish the value of the model. Makes me wonder if it had been used as a demo or exhibition car, had some miles on it, and was being sold as a used car.

Gotta think long term.

What will the Fiat spider be doing in five years? will it even be around? The mazda is outselling it by almost 3 to 1 ratio and impractical and involving cars to drive have a very limited appeal to the masses. It wouldnt surprise me if once the obligation to buy a certain number of mazda chassis is fulfilled, that FCA decides to kill the spider.

With that in mind, 20 or 30 years from now if someone had #1 off the production line of an interesting sports car that was produced in small numbers, for limited years, it could certainly be worth something.

20 years ago, no one in their right mind could have predicted what camaros and trans ams from the 70's would be going for today.

17 Abarth, manual, luxury group, Rosso Red. Progress Springs, V1 intake, DV+ diverter valve, TR Motorsports FF10 wheels, Pirelli Pzero+ 215/45/17, GWR full Abarth Exhaust, Wilwood BBK
