A/T impossible top speed.

Ameridan indicates the theoretical top speed speed of the 124 @ over 200 mph. Won't happen! What is the best way to get a lower gear ration in the differential, since it's obvious to me that it is geared wrong. I have the A/T Abarth and rarely get in 6th gear in auto mode.
Thanks.
Go.

I have my AT tuned by Tork and on the highway at 55-65mph it is always at 6th saving money.

However, in stock sport mode, it usually stayed at 4-5. So the A/T behaviour can be changed.

is it possible to change the transmission ratios on the aisin b400? I would also like to reduce the 5th and 6th gear

A very tall 6th gear with an impossible top speed isn't really a bad thing. It's not ideal for maximum performance, but for the real world where noise, wear and tear, and fuel economy matter, a tall 6th is pretty nice. Of course there is no way the car will reach redline in 6th (well...no realistic way that's reasonable) but you have other gears.

true but not on a sports car, also in 5 it is hard to take rpm .... how many rpm is your 5 in maximum speed?

Thank you for your suggestion! but unfortunately they have nothing in the catalog. I found a workshop willing to change gear to my differential and I would be tempted to do it ... or alternatively take a diffrential of a NC, I think it is 4.10 ratio ...

keep us informed on how that goes. I'm sure at some point there are others that would want to do it too...Or at least know its possible.

good luck!

For anyone mental, umm, I mean courageous enough to consider swapping the ring and pinion themselves, here's a look at what that entails (obviously the details will differ, but the basic idea is the same)
