Taking Another Look

I was strongly considering getting an Abarth Spider a couple of years ago and instead ended up with an Alfa Romeo Giulia that I like very much.

Spring (it is spring, isn't it?) has me thinking about the Spider again, and I'm really disappointed at what I see in inventory. While dealers are happy to sell me what they have, I'm really not interested in settling. Did the Monza Record exhaust come and go? No cars seem to have it. Ditto Brembo brakes. Just not shipping cars with them to the US?

Please tell me if you think I'm seeking a unicorn. I may have to reconsider my priorities.
  • Red Exterior
  • Red/black interior
  • Manual transmission
  • Sound, Vision, and Convenience Packages
  • Brembo brakes and Monza Record exhaust

It definitely seems like most dealers bought cars with quick pick option packages where the car is either "sporty" or "luxurious." It's really rare to see a mix of both, at least in Florida.

Any specific set of colors and options is tough to find. Use the internet; the Fiat website search will look in a 150 mile radius. Fine zip codes and do searches and look.
I was lucky enough to find a car that had everything I wanted except the two tone leather seats. It did have black leather, though. I knew I was going to buy it right away; it was less than an hour from home.

The Abarth Spider is as much fun as the Giulia even though it is significantly less powerful.

I have a 17 Giulia Quadrifoglio and recently picked up a used 17 Abarth 124 Spider as my daily commuter. I will confess that I find myself reaching for a clutch that isn't there in the Giulia now.

Pictured below Pappa Bear, Momma Bear and Baby Bear.

I love the red and black. That is the interior color combination I wanted in the QV!

I was looking far a black QV with red and black interior.

The price was right on the Misano Blue QV, black interior with red stitching. I bought her over the internet, bought a one-way ticket on Southwest and picked her up!
