Additives!

Do you guys use any additives from stores like Pep Boys or AutoZone, such as injector cleaners or high octane “shots”?

I have not used any cleaners yet but I have added VP Racing Fuels octane booster when I didn't have access to 100UL race gas or the water injection installed to keep the knock down when going all out. A full can will treat a full tank but since I race under 1/4 tank, I only add 6-8oz at a time.

No additives. Use only Chevron which has Techron additive. No engine knocks on regular grade.

You probably know this, but the manual calls for premium grade fuel.

@MiniDreamCar

When I was about your age I added all kinds of stuff to my first car (a 1988 Pontiac Firebird...couldn't afford the Trans Am!). I was completely seduced by the bottles and displays and ads...no shame - those people know what they are doing! It's a very clever science of appealing to someone's emotions, especially when they love something and want to take care of it!

ALL OF THEM ARE SNAKE OIL AND A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY.

(in my humble experience/opinion)

Although I must admit they do give you a good feeling using them.

I would listen to the advice of experts like Calhedron but other than that, skip them and save your money.

For that high of babying your baby - invest in some quality detailing products and show her some love!
