Trackday 2018, NJ Area

Hi Everyone,

Is anyone going to the Hook on Driving Event at NJMP?

https://www.hookedondriving.com/even...h_24/25th_2018

Link is here

Only two sessions per day but the price is great.

Or the full event

https://www.hookedondriving.com/even...ch_24_and_25th

Best,
Kevin

I was planning on doing a FIAT Club Event at NJMP but I can't participate in Track activity. NJMP does NOT allow convertibles without EXPOSED rollover protection. Deployable roll hoops are NOT compliant and your helmeted head must pass the "broomstick test." When seated in the car with helmet on, a straight edge from the top of the windshield to the rollover protection shall not touch the top of the helmet.

EC V4, GFB, PTP Blanket, Mishimoto Catch Can, Red Bits & Rim Blades, EC Pro Pedal, LED Lite Ugrades, Info Sys Tweaks, Sound Deading Tiles, AutoRicambi Axle back resonated exhaust

Prev-40th Ann RX-8, NA Miata, MR2, Saab 900 Convertible, 1982 Spider Turbo, Alfa Spider, VD Formula Ford, Citation F2000/Continental

It looked interesting before you got to the "rollbar" part. Has anyone tried that broomstick test? (Or do we need to remove the trim to do the test?) I'd need to get a new helmet for driving in a car anyway...

They recently added another Bondurant "Abarth Experience"course in Early May - I think I'll go to that and use THEIR car. But keep us updated on Pocono!

I really hate how the Roll bar looked.

The OEM looks wayyy better to me, but they are not really safe

Official response:

"NJ state regulations will not allow your Spider to run at NJMP except for Parade/Orientation laps with only the factory protection. "

Update:

Just got this email from hooked on driving:

Louis,

I’ve discovered that you will be fine to come out to Pocono. Still waiting on answer from LimeRock.
