It’s unappealing to look at, that’s for sure so regardless of how well it performs...it’s still a hatch, not a convertible and won’t give you the same fun factor or aesthetics. So I know - objectively - the Type R is quiet probably brilliant, but good God what is wrong with Honda’s designers? It’s as though they finished the design half way through their shift but felt obliged to keep working until the end of the day, so they kept adding bits.
They make a lot more sense in other parts of the world. When you see a Mustang on the road in Britain, it seems enormous.Meh. Not a big fan of the Hot Hatchback segment anyway. I don't really get the appeal.
With the exception of Abarth 5oo ......of course ??Meh. Not a big fan of the Hot Hatchback segment anyway. I don't really get the appeal.
I have a “hot hatchback” and they have there place.Meh. Not a big fan of the Hot Hatchback segment anyway. I don't really get the appeal.
Now that I think about it, I do recall wanting a 1st gen Scirocco as a young guy in the late ‘70’s. I imagine that’s the equivalent of today’s Hot Hatch.I have a “hot hatchback” and they have there place.
I like my dads 124 but with the driving I do for work it’s nice having the extra space and still be able to zip around.
And there is something to be said about a “sleeper” hot hatch of which the type R isn’t.
I like seeing the looks on people’s faces when my mini pulls on there Uber saloons.>![]()
Which isn’t really a “hatch”With the exception of Abarth 5oo ......of course ??
Or all that hot if we’re honest.Which isn’t really a “hatch”With the exception of Abarth 5oo ......of course ??
Really wish hot Renault’s were available in the US. The new Alpine A110 looks fantastic.Americans have never got hot-hatches but then again, they?ve really not been exposed to the best of them. I?ve had a couple of interesting ones and they were pretty awesome...

Don't they have some sort of alliance with Nissan? US sales of Renaults probably doesn't fit the Nissan strategy.Really wish hot Renault’s were available in the US. The new Alpine A110 looks fantastic.
Disagree ...... maybe on a "numbers" assessment but as for the "fun factor" - hard to beatOr all that hot if we’re honest.
