Hi All!

I have had a Lusso for almost a month, and in a lot of ways I wish I had found this forum before I purchased! I find that there are parts of an Abarth that I like, and even though it took me a minute to put my finger on it - I now know that they are all cosmetic.

I don't need more power (Looked down and saw I was going 87 in a 65 this weekend!!), and I have no intention of racing or anything like that. I am also minimally mechanically inclined.

So - how would I go about finding/adding the dark front bumper, dark rims? Are there other cosmetic differences I am missing?

And, are there benefits of Brembos for a casual daily driver?

Sorry if this has been covered in other threads, I did do a search but didn't see those answers.

Thanks y'all!

Hiya....Interesting thread..."I think" the 124 Spider Abarth will have different component / air intake hoses / fitting point so it would be good to know and we do have members who have owned both models. the Abarth alloys are heavy 22+ lbs per corner as opposed to your Lusso 18+ lbs, which look good anyway but if you fancy a colour change, you could rub down, prepare and respray to save cash and still have black alloys. Casual driver or not Brembos are bigger and better options to standard through safety angle anyway, however the standard brakes calipers are fine, you could paint them also (heat resistant paint), the pads on my Classica I found to be rubbish so I swapped out for EBC yellowstuff and suddenly "I could stop "! Should you get the answer on swapping the front / rear panels for Abarth versions then they are available, here in UK on ebay £100-200 each so must be available elsewhere but really..........If it's the 124 Spider Abarth that you want....124 Lusso is a great executive Sports car that will sell easily (not so much winter though) why not sell or trade in....?
Brembos being bigger...alloy wheels would need changing anyway. Cheers

The front end of the Abarth model is different from the Classica and Lusso variants, but I suspect if you went about purchasing a replacement front end, everything forward of the hood should bolt on. I'd talk to the dealer's service department first to confirm that though, and I suspect it would be God awful expensive. As for the red trim bits (mirror caps, lipstick line)... those you should also be able to find and purchase. I'm unsure if the red tow hook cap will fit on a non-Abarth model, but if you end up replacing the front end with an Abarth one, it would fit for sure. Otherwise, you could find a matching can of spray paint and paint your existing tow hook cap red. You'll find paint codes here in threads on this forum. Another option for the lipstick line and mirror caps would be to wrap them. That could be a far less expensive option all round.

As for the wheels, there might be some for sale here on this forum. Otherwise, a visit to the stealership.

Good luck with your project, and enjoy that Spider.... :)

I have an Abarth with standard brakes. My plans will unfortunately go down the drain (FIAT seems to be very uncooperative for moving a vehicle from the US to Sweden), but I would go for aftermarket larger brakes instead of the factory Brembos - if changing, why not do a significant change (well, cost will matter) - black lighter wheels (Advanti Storm 17x7).
I actually like the standard 124 front better than the Abarth one. On my black car the black plastic lower part looks like a big chunk of cheap plastic.
Other differences are in the interior, notably the seats.
Further, it seems as some options (visibility, conveniande, and navigations/sound groupa) are only available on the Abarth and the Lusso.

I’m pretty sure someone on this forum found a classica for sale at a dealership that had full Abarth appearance. I can’t seem to find it because I forget the context but it’s been done.
