The replied me and he doesn't ship to Canada. I like his badge looks like what's on the steering wheel, but 53mm that would be 3mm short, My only option is to buy it and have ship to this guy in Italy which I will seem in January on vacation.
Question is this size large enough.

I measured the badge on the steering wheel and it's 48mm and the out ring is 62mm
Next guy that does this project, can you take pictures of the steering wheel without the badge, the another of the back side of the badge and one with the new badge.

It looks like the Fiat badge is made of metal and is caved in the steering wheel. But pictures will clearify. tia

Hapster...pics please.

I measured 53 without taking anything out...55 is the hole opening...at least what I measured....but I agree we need someone to pull the emblem out and measure without triggering the airbag :) any takers ?

I bought these and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality... They are made with aluminum that is about 1/64" thick so they are pretty rigid. The finish is very nice. The shield, scorpion, and lettering is raised and bright gold, the colors are correct, and the finish seems pretty durable.

Of the four, two were exactly on center, one was very slightly off center, and one was noticeably off center. The adhesive layer is very thin and sticky, about 1/2 the thickness of the paper you peel off. There are no markings on the paper to indicate that the adhesive is an actual 3M product, but it does seem to be of good quality. Getting the clear plastic protective film off the front was a real PITA though.

I have no idea if it will fit because I won't get the car I ordered until May or June. Until then, I am going to toss the off center one into the door pocket of my 500 and let it roll around to test the durability of the finish. I was surprised with how nice these things were, and I feel they are well worth the $10.00 I paid for them.

Just throwing a little more detail about these out there in case anyone is wondering.

no real solution

RBh58 ....want to sell your airbag ? :crying:

Ok, I ventured today and dismantled all the airbag hoping to remove the fiat emblem....will not post any pics due to liability. (I can answer any questions if you want).

the fiat emblem (and the Abarth in Europe) are made of a tin material with 7 bent tags that hold it in place. The baking, to hold the tin from bending in, is part of the cover and is plastic it is not flat. ie: the emblem is not sitting on a flat surface but slightly curved and it is not a stick on.

if you are trying to remove the emblem....you will not be able to unless you dismantle the whole airbag.

the airbag pops out by pushing on 3 locations with a small screw driver inside the 3 holes on the steering wheel.

So for NA, we either change the whole airbag ($1000) from Europe or put stick on or live with the UGLY Fiat emblem (sorry my opinion).

So what's holding the emblem, you can post the inside of the emblem, no one will know it's a Fiat. LOL

If I picture right, the emblem sits on a ring hole. C'mon you could post pictures of where it's sitting and the underside of the emblem, it will not show it's a Fiat. Or make a knew Post under Unknown badge or something like that. :nerd:>:)

The emblem is like a cup with the tags coming out of it. It sits on the molded ring that is part of the whole cover...you will not be able to remove the emblem without destroying it and the cover.....meaning destroying the airbag.....unless you reach it from the inside and "unbend" the 7 tags.

below is a u tube ......on a chevy.....that is the same design....all airbags are the same.

Thanks Nice Finding, So if you take a flat screw driver and force the sides eventually it will come out, even some little scratches, won't matter, cause the new replacement ones being slightly larger will cover it.

The one the Italian Ebay was selling is just slightly larger, but its the best I have seen quality wise.

No it will NOT come out....you have 7 tags holding it...you will tear the whole plastic of the airbag. if you try to pry it....all that will happen, the emblem will bend but will NOT come off.... I tried every way including fishing line...before I ventured and opened the whole bag up.

if you want to cover the emblem.....our only option now is as shown prior on this thread, stick it on.

ps: even if you remove the emblem....you still have a bump that is part of the plastic cover....that is what keeps the emblem curved otherwise it would bend if you push on it.

trying to source the emblem only now....if anyone knows where these airbags are made...maybe we can source the emblem directly.

See below solution. emblem sourced from a wheel center cap available from different sources/plastic/chrome sourround......as close as oem. diameter is less by 3 mm only. some surgery to the airbag plastic cover but not intrusive....all Fiat emblems removed :)
