Thinking of buying a 124 Spider Abarth? Fiat’s throwing in a free day of track driving school to sweeten the deal.
The Abarth 124 Spider may not be one of the fastest cars to hit the tracks with a 168 hp, 1.4-litre engine that can push out 184 lb-ft of torque but, its rear wheel drive platform will still provide you with plenty of fun as you hoon it down a stretch of asphalt. Granted, if you’re new to the track scene then an instructional day to a driving school may be of some use to you.
That’s where Fiat and their partnership with the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving comes in. They’re offering a free professional driving course for 124 Spider Abarth and 500 Abarth buyers. Even better news, the practice cars won’t be your own!
Located in Phoenix, Arizona, the school day will start with some classroom time before everyone is set loose. Not only does the program feature hot laps but they also have instructor-led skid, slalom, auto-cross and team rally cross activities.
On an optional second day, attendees will have a chance to leave the track and go on a 180 to 220 mile scenic drive around the Arizona highways rally style. A morning coffee break and private lunch is included before everyone heads back to the school.
Unfortunately, for anyone who is nowhere near Arizona, Fiat will not cover the extra travel, food, and hotel expenses. Also, lessees will only have one year starting from the sale date to claim their free track day but at least the Bondurant Abarth program runs year-round.
