I think the ND Miata used aluminum on the hood, deck lid and front fenders. I was wondering if Fiat did the same.

The say about 104 pounds. I've read on multiple different reviews, multiple different reasons. A couple reviews said it was mainly between the engines. A few said it was mostly the extra sound proofing. A few more said it was the front and rear overhang (5 inches total). But the only thing we really know is that the Fiat battery is 10 lbs heavier than the Miata's (thanks to Good Win Racing for weighing them).

Gotta love it when you have multiple reasons.. I don't think they would use anything but aluminum considering that seems to be the norm with vehicles now a days. Kind of a bittersweet thing if you ask me though.

I can verify that all of the panels except the doors and rear quarter panels are aluminum, just like the miata.

Magnet I was actually surprised. My Honda rusted out in the hood, so I don't have to worry about that happening...

Genius.. But... that's a good thing, I'll just be worried about how easily these panels are going to dent. Like if someone ends up leaning on the side or someone sits on the hood like a d-bag.

I wish the Abarth hood and decklid were carbon fiber. Then they'd have good reason to be black/dark.
