I wondered about that too. Good review by a ham-fisted driver. His editor should make sure he only gets auto-trans cars to review in the future...

This is the Miata MX5 NC transmission. I have had mine for almost seven years. Never have had a problem. Yes, when you push down and put it into reverse, there is a solid, satisfying sound of it going into position, but not a crunch as if something is not fitting correctly.

Step on clutch....push down...one Mississippi....two Mississippi...shift....Amante, ham-fisted is an excellent description...no synchro in reverse...lack of knowledge on driver's part.....
