I use Bragi Bluetooth earbuds while driving, legal or not I don't really care. I link my phone to the Spider via Bluetooth and then link my Bragi to my phone. The controls on the steering column now work in controlling th audio signal going to my earbuds.

You might try the audio system in the Spider - with the speakers behind your head, especially. Phone calls are crystal clear through the system and I'm told by callers they hear me very well also. Might make more sense than earbuds - just something to consider if you haven't tried it. It also displays your contacts and self dials pretty well when needed via voice command.

Can't wait to try out the new wireless Apple EarPods, too.
The Spider is the actually the first roadster I've owned where driving at 70-80 mph, top down, still allows me to hear calls clearly on the audio system. I actually had a conversation with my wife for nearly an hour the other day on the interstate before I'd realized how long I'd been talking and how well it works in this car. I could have never done that in my Bimmer. And she had no problems hearing me. Music - I just crank it up and have a good time. So, while to each his own, I'm a little surprised others would feel the need for earbuds.
agree on working well. the headset speakers work awesome.
I too have carried on calls at 70+ with minimal issue.
