During hard acceleration sometimes brake light turn on at the dashboard.
I believe it means fluid is low.
I checked the level it is between min. and max.
I want to add some but I am confuse
User manual says Dot 4
Brake fluid cap says Dot 3
Which one I have add?

Whichever you want. DOT4 has a higher boiling point but both are compatible.

Looks like DOT 3 is factory fill but DOT 4 is acceptable. For a top-off I’d use the 3.

Thanks for clarification, I will add some Dot 3 and later change with Dot 4 during Brake upgrade

You should not be adding brake fluid if properly filled at the factory (if you are getting the light, it was probably not). Brake fluid will go down as the pads wear out.

If you end up adding fluid and your pads are worn, make sure you remove it when installing pads as it will spill when the caliper pistons are pushed in to accomodate the new pads.

Brake fluid is extremely corrosive and will damage your paint, you don't want it spilling.

Glad I found this old thread. My warning light was coming on during hard acceleration. I just topped off my brake fluid with DOT4. Let's hope the light goes away.
