Which to buy, a 2019 or 2020? There are still a lot of brand new leftover 2019s. I have even seen brand new left over 2018s! There seems to be about a $1000 more cash rebates for a brand new left over 2019 ($3000-$4000 cash rebates depending on region) over a 2020 ($2000-$3000). The $1000 difference is probably a wash once depreciation is taken in to consideration. I also have seen 2020s being discounted more then some 2019s? I suspect more discounts soon as winter is near?

Anyone know if there are any differences between a 2019 and 2020? Any of the 2019+ Miata updates get introduced to the Spider? Stuff like the tilt/telescopic steering wheel?

Only difference between 2019 and 2020 (at least in NA) is the debut of the Urbana trim. No 124 Spider has telescoping steering wheel from the factory. If you need it, it's a fairly easy/inexpensive add-on.

How much to add a telescoping steering wheel, what's involved?

I bought a 2020 because I wanted the Abarth logo rather than the FIAT logo on the steering wheel and the price was a wash. Other than that, I couldn't find any differences when I looked at both years side by side.

2019 Abarths also had the Abarth steering wheel emblem.

The one I looked at didn't and I confirmed the year via VIN. Must have been some kind of holdover or something.

Production and logistic delays are finally freeing up. More dealers are advertising new 2020 models as inbound now. Dealers say cars ordered around March, at the start of covid19, should finally be on dealer lots by Nov. Just in time to sit on them for another 5-6 months over winter.

And my 2018 also has the Abarth steering wheel badge. I believe it was built July 2018.

I noticed there are no fender badges on a lot of the 2020s. Are the badges part of the appearance pkg?

The fender badges are part of the dealer-installed Record Monza exhaust option. With the backorder for Record Monza exhausts, it's not surprising you're going to see very few with the badges.
