a nice detailed article, but with most stuff we knew.

http://www.caranddriver.com/features/2017-fiat-124-spider-dissected-feature

a few things stand out.

1. the upgraded suspension

2. this statement "Those hoping for the much more powerful engine from the Alfa Romeo 4C will be disappointed that it doesn’t fit. Besides, FCA wants to reserve Alfa engines for Alfas." this sucks for those hoping the abarth would get the 1.75l.

do they say WHY it won't fit? Also the alfa engine for alfas thing, is easy to get around. Fiat views the 1.75 an alfa engine, but if they made a 1.85 it would no longer be an "alfa" engine...

C/D earned its subscription when it told me about the 124 Spider. I had been waiting for a sports car (ok, ok roadster) that moved me, so to speak. But now, there arises a unique experience in my long life: the Spider is a totally new model made under a totally new partnership agreement. I cannot drop the 35 large without first reading a review of it in the car magazine I've learned to trust, sort of, over many years reading. Maybe many people are in the same position. C/D reporters must get treated very well indeed by the car companies.
