Hello, again! Due to a glitch in the forum software I was accidentally banned for spam for a couple of days and it looks like my build thread suffered from it. So re-posting and we can get back to the fun :)

I'll update the thread as I install parts with pictures and my thoughts, as for the main post it will be to keep track of everything so my head doesnt get too jumbled. 🥴 As always feel free to look over my list and critique anything!

Don't forget there's also the ported turbo manifold, since you're going to be upgrading the turbo too

With the poor spring rate labeling, ever changing colors for the rates, and piston design I am starting to second guess the Forge WGA option for this engine. It's proving to be difficult to consistently dial in for the 1%ers. Lots more dumping issues until its finally worked out.

I have been using a TurboSmart on the 500 for a year now and I like it more at this point. It is a diaphragm design like the OEM and mimics its control more closely than I suspect the Forge does that may be more exponential by design.

It is a little cheaper for initial purchase, but be aware it comes with a 7PSI spring. You will need to purchase either a 3PSI inner to get to 10, the 11 center to replace the 7 completely, or a 5 inner to get to 12 depending on your car, tune, etc. and the wrench if you don't have one from a coilover kit, they are the same thing.

Once you choose your crack pressure spring combo, you set 2mm of preload on the arm and its done. No more messing with it.

Oh wow...setting up the TurboSmart WGA sounds a lot less frustrating

The trade off is each spring is $30ish each, not set. Choose wisely! For the majority either choose the 3 inner or 11 center and be done.

Do not neglect heat management for this engine. Have things true ceramic coated before install. I will have some new products for you to add to your list in the next few months, namely a turbo manifold blanket, downpipe, and crosspipe blankets from PTP once design, fabrication, and testing is complete. Get some spiffy APR hood vents to go with the splitter like @Spoolin32 and I have gone with.

I'm working on the ram air feed horn redesign/relocation now on and off. Mine collapses in the heat at the intake hose clamp. It falls off or I crush the snot out of it and V notch it. The horn opening is just kinda laying under the frame, blocked by the nose, and has no true direct fresh air source. Imma fix that!

May I inquire as to the general area you live in and drive in? Since I'm in PHX, I will be more extreme but I can help custom tailor based on your general conditions.

@celbii Cancel the Sport Cat order! ASAP!! You can have mine for half that shipped. I will even leave the heat shield on it, all you gotta do is swap the O2 sensor and go. Oh, get a proper 2.5" gasket, don't use the OEM between the Cat and Cross, its too small. I posted the PN of a better 2.5 and 2.25 in one of my threads.

Thanks for the info @Calehedron I saw in your thread about having the blankets made and plan to buy them when they are available. Also good info on the turbosmart WGA, may be the way to go it seems like for less headache.. Unfortunately the sportcat already shipped today so no cancel on that. Are you going catless? I'm in OKC and Jet hot is one of our tenants so I plan to get stuff coated :)

@Seth its def something I'll probably do at some point, I just wish EC had the option to core exchange after install rather than pulling it off and waiting for it to be done. However I am in Oklahoma city so it should be a fast turn around...

Yes, I have gone Cat Less. It and the GWR cross pipe are on the way home now from Jet Hot and then I will package up the manifold to be shipped off to PTP.

Sorry you missed the cancellation. Someone will need it at some point. I will have a spare Turbo core once my son gets his upgraded here shortly.

@68wooley ordered that 2.5" gasket to go with the stock cat to 2.5" GWR crossover pipe. We did not like how the 2.5" gasket fit so I gave him a spare OEM one I had on hand. It might go better with the GWR Sport Cat but I doubt it. The issue is how it fits around the bolts.

I did say that the holes may need to be worked a bit because the flange is still a 2.25 footprint and bolt spacing even though the GWR pipes are 2.5. There is never going to be a perfect fit for 2.5 unless you convince someone to create it. The OEM is 2.25 and the sealing ring is right on 2.5 so that's the hit and miss leaking when going larger there. I bet the system one crosspipe fits the OEM gasket perfectly though since its 2.25.

You're from Mississippi, break out your Old Timer (or Buck) pocket knife and waller out the holes a little and trim the excess once bolted together. It's not rocket surgery. That's my specialty being from Huntsville.

Hi @Calehedron I'm interested on the sport cat but not sure when to pull the trigger on that.

Pull it now @Jesus Santa! Its a good deal.

Considering the Advan TC-4 in 17x7.5 +40 in either black gun metallic or racing gunmetal metallic. The polished ring around the lip of the wheel is causing me second thoughts though.

The car Savings account don't have enough money.

Also you should continue looking for wheels and look for a 17x8 and not mid sizes upgrades. But that is just my opinion

did
Nothing in 17x8 that I really have liked so far(with decent fitting offsets anyways) as to pull the trigger on it already and the difference between 7.5 and 8 isn't enough for me to worry about really tbh, vs say a 17x7 vs a 17x8.
Did you check goodwin site?, Tirerack? and other sites?

@Calehedron I want to confirm this after work now, but I'd have said the turbosmart wga as shipped from EC adjusted to Nueman's specs cracks at 10psi for me, no spring adjustment needed. Apologies if I misunderstood your post. It is very simple and I'm very happy with it.

I haven't measured it for the TurboSmart yet, just going by the springs and the instructions to set it up. Mine stated 7PSI spring so I would hope that is spot on or we kinda back into Forge territory playing with springs to get the "true" reading.
