You won't notice in normal driving. Where they are most effective is over imperfections like railroad tracks or potholes. Then again, I'm running super comfy spec (stock suspension, 16" wheels, 55 aspect tires...) so YMMV.
My expectations were a bit high from the mx5 guys saying how amazing they are in simply closing the door. Couldn’t hardly tell the difference between the stock bushing and the carvenspeed in that regard either lol.

A couple small projects the last few days.

Added @XtremeRevolution's sound deading to the trunk and a couple random places, ended up using all 10 sheets, should have bought 15 lol.

I also changed out the stock shift knob (which weighs a surprisingly heavy 303 grams) For a JDM R-Magic heavy weight shift knob that weighs 510grams. I love the new shift knob and it feels great, I enjoy it much more over the stock knob.

I also got in my MADNESS carbon fiber rear spoiler. Sadly fitment isn't 100% around the rear edges( Which I expect it to be for $600, my Taiwan carbon parts for other cars have better fitment at 30% of the price) BUT it does seem to have a little give when using two hands to press it down so HOPEFULLY once I get time to add some 3m tape to it and install it, it wont be too noticeable, I will update then with the true fitment once installed, if its acceptable I'll keep it, if not ill send it back.

Just got some goodies in the mail!

I have to say that with every mod I am loving this car more and more. The R-magic weighted shift knob really really made the shifting so much more smooth feeling and enjoyable. Coupled with mods like the Forge atmospheric BoV and the system one exhaust, really make it a joy. I'm not even tuned on stage one yet :) my 1446+ turbo should be here tomorrow( Just got the install kit today) as well. Still waiting for my v2 intake to ship out, ordered it a week ago, wonder if they may not have everything in stock for it? Also waiting for the intercooler to come back in stock so I can order it as well, I check it everyday but so far no luck. Other than that just waiting to get my sportcat and crosspipe back from jet hot so I can install them and get my phase 1 tune done(Can I be the most upgraded phase 1 guy? hah). Though I may end up putting on the turbo/sportcat/crosspipe then going to stage one to be honest while I wait for the intake and intercooler.

Once I get the intercooler I'll goto stage 3

Wow those wheels look nice. What are the specs? What tires are you going to run? I just recently put Yokohama ADVAN Fleva V701 235/40/17 on my car and I like them a lot.
Advan TC-4 17x7.5 +35 in gunmetal from rev9

I have michelin pilot sport 4s to put on them 215/45/17's

I remember seeing them in your thread, they look good :)

Got some more parts in. Also got my V2 intake from EC but a little dissapointed as instead of getting their filter they hype up I just got a normal K&N filter that doesn't fit the intake setup correctly. As you can see in the pictures it pushes the air intake elbow out past the turbo where as every picture I see it is flush. This is because the K&N filter they provide does not fit the whole length of the coupler and adds an extra inch or so, which inturn makes the pvc hose fit a bit looser with the silicone intake not being flush to the turbo, and also the filter brace they provide for the end of the filter does not fit correctly as its designed for their filter and not a tapered K&N filter.

I'm assuming based on the length of time it took to ship the intake out they may be out of their filters or saving them for their v4 intakes and had to last minute source another filter that works. I understand that given the current world situation but had I known that I would have either prefered to wait to get their EC filter or at least have a modified coupler and filter brace included that would make the intake fit correctly. Not the end of the world as I happen to have a bead rolling tool in the shop my dad just bought to work on his race car a couple weeks ago, so I can hack the coupler up and roll a new bead on it, but I'm guessing most people don't have that kind of tool laying around(though it may be possible to just cut the bead off and slide it further in the k&N). Also the brace will have to be shortened to fit the filter end properly( assuming it comes apart at the junction). All in all I will email EC and let them know I'd like the proper filter that I paid for considering I've spent around 5k with them, I don't think thats too much to ask for, but if not at least bring to their attention if they are going to plan to use the K&N filters for any length of time to at least include the proper coupler size and and filter brace for any one that orders one in the future. Not a big deal so I may just be whining to whine, just a minor annoyance when its a 100 degrees out and youre installing an intake and scratching your head a bit why things dont quite look like they should lol.

That filter is completely different than the V4. V4 is a closed canister that connects with a short hose back to the ram duct that the OEM air box connects to. Here in PHX that plastic duct gets soft in the heat and it collapses under the hose clamp and eventually falls loose on me, it has a permanent V notch in the outer ring from folding up. Another thing I am working on a redesign for.

Yes you are right looking at the pictures. For some reason I was thinking the filter inside the canister could be removed and that they possible used the same filter element inside.

Those carbon parts are an absolute license to print money! I'd be sending back for them not fitting properly.

Wheels look lovely. Good luck on your turbo install!

Agree on door bushings. I simply unbolted the metal cup from the door, put it in a vice and squeezed it to fit better round the rubber.

Door shuts much more snugly (you can hear a sucking noise as it open) and it cant hurt to have a better connection in the only place between door and rear quarter.

Finally went by jet hot and picked up my Crosspipe and sport cat, all nice and coated :D Hopefully that helps with some of the heat issues. Also included as a bonus is one of the headers for my V8 SLK, going to drop them off to get coated as well now that they've finally came in after a couple months of waiting for them to be built.

yes we are! We recently invested in MORE CORES specific to the 124 so we can help more people at once. We have both turbos and manifold for the 124 available.
Good stuff. Once I get it torn apart I’m probably going to get the manifold to go with the EC turbo, no reason not to at this point esp considering I’m about to park her while I do all this stuff.

Putting my money where my mouth is and just placed an order for the manifold :)

Some small updates. Steering wheel installed, making progress on the turbo removal, had to stop last night because the V-band on the turbo and downpipe was frozen solid. Ended up letting PB blaster soak through it for 24 hours and came back and it was still frozen. We were about to put some heat on to it and cut it off as a last resort, but decided to give it a couple more little taps and it popped right off. We must have pried and hammered on it 300 times including prying and hammer on the downpipe from under the car with alot of force, it was FROZEN. Used all my double sided tape on the madness spoiler but ultimately me and my dad decided that the fitment was not good and we weren't going to stick it on like that so I am going to PM Madness here and see if they will send me a new one and also ask for an update on the carbon fiber side sil's I ordered with the spoiler that I haven't heard a word on, will keep updated on that.
