I have the pearl white and I had the same experience as you. Yellowish stuff.

I told the dealer to skip detailing the car. As soon as I got home I gave the car a good wash and clay barred the entire car.

Then over the next couple of days... 2 coats of Klasse all in one, 8 hours apart, 2 coats of Klasse high gloss sealant, 8 hours apart then 2 coats of Meguiars wax.

The car looks awesome! A deep translucent mirror like shine, almost like there is a thin coat of water coating the entire surface.

I also cleaned the top with 303 fabric cleaner, then treated the top with 303 fabric guard. I treated all of the black plastic with 2 coats of meguiars ultimate black.

It sucked not being able to drive the car for 3 days while I did all of this, but in the end, it was well worth it. The car was and still is gorgeous!

I will do it all over again this spring after she comes out of storage.

Not that big a deal... I just do it once per season. Looks awesome, especially in bright sunlight.

I've heard the fabric guard is a PITA to apply - how did you find it?
I applied it with a foam brush and avoided the mess from it going all over the car. I let it dry overnight in the garage.
best regards
Pete
I am with Pete on this one... Do Not Spray it! (I did the first time... It took me hours to get it off the windshield trim and the glass)

I used a micro fiber towel to apply it. Using a foam brush is a great idea, thanks for the tip!

Mine won't be here until next week, but for the first time ever, I clay barred my 2015 Ram 1500. The truck only has 17000 miles on it, and it sits in the garage 99% of the time. But it sure looks like a brand new truck after waxing it

Using a clay bar may be the most important thing to do to really get your car clean. All the polish, sealant, wax, etc., would be like a woman putting on her makeup without washing/cleansing her face.

My detailer said that the next step beyond clay bar is actually plumber's putty. He said it's softer and less likely to allow any picked up contaminants scratch. He did not demonstrate the technique but like most things it's probably on YouTube.

I’m not doing that! The prevailing expertise has sealant application after clay, right? I’ve never used plumbers putty for anything but plumbing.

I was not very clear in my statement. The idea behind plumber's putty is a softer, less abrasive compound for decontaminating previously paint-corrected and ceramic-coated vehicles after some months, prior to a final wash and application of a maintenance coating. A clay bar would be overly aggressive in this circumstance.
