Inspired by our SoCal friends, and knowing that there's at least 7 or 8 members in the state, is anyone interested in a Colorado meet-up? We could do something as simple as meeting up at an eatery somewhere in the Frontrange for brunch or do something more adventurous and figure out a drive somewhere in the mountains.

We've probably got a good six weeks of snow possibly causing a problem (the un-forecast 5 inches on my driveway this morning being a case-in-point), but that gives us enough time to plan something.

If there's enough interest, I'm happy to take on the planning. Let me know.

Cheers,
Graeme.

OK - sitting in my office looking at the snow fall outside and generally task avoiding. Got to thinking about this again.

Anyone up for a meet up Saturday June 2nd? Far enough out to be (almost) sure we won't get snowed off and misses the memorial day weekend.

I was trying to think on somewhere relatively easy to get to from both north and south of Denver and figured Golden might work..? Plenty of eating options if we want to do that and easy access to some fun roads if anyone wants a quick mountain run before or afterwards.

Let me know what you think.

OK - let's stick with the 2nd.

I like Steve's idea of meeting at Wundervu Cafe, although if we get anyone else interested we can maybe adjust and find a location that works for everyone.

That would be a fun 2 hour drive (one way) for me! Lyons, to Ward, Netherlands, and then drop down to the Wundervu Cafe. Maybe Estes on the way back. Very nice!
OK - we have the makings of a plan :)

We can figure out a time and I'll book a table if we think it'll be necessary closer to the day.

If you’ll allow an avid 124 owner from Wichita to join your group, I’m always looking for a reason to drive out to the mountains and enjoy your great roads.
Hi Firmie - welcome to the boards. Absolutely welcome - the more the merrier.

*BUMP*

We're a week and a half out from our proposed Front-Range meet up, June 2nd, at Wundervu Cafe on Coal Creek Canyon Road (Hwy 72).

Can I get a show of hands from those planning to be there? I was going to propose meeting at 9 am but if that's too early or late let me know - I'll be pretty flexible on the day. If enough people are planning to come along, I'll see if I can book a table.

Hope to see you there,
Graeme.

@68wooley...A favorite is Independence Pass to Glenwood Springs on the 82.

Dan
Parents are coming out from Scotland in a two weeks, which mean Mrs W and myself get to go Spidering over Independance Pass for a night in Aspen sans children...always assuming its open by then...

@68wooleyMaybe one day we can split the distance and do something around Vail.
Absolutely - lots of summer to go and I haven't explored the western side of the mountains anything like as much as the Front Range. Need to go do the Million Dollar Highway at some point...

Thanks for breakfast Steve. Learned three things today:

1. There really are other Spiders in Colorado
2. The car looks much better lowered.
3. The GWR exhaust sounds great.

Starting to think about dates and locations for a follow up.

How about we start planning now. I’m pretty wide open for the summer. A place I like is Frisco, just north of Breckinridge. IanA lives in Breck and knows the town. Sounds like I’m already volunteering him, but at least we have a local there.

I’ve stayed at the Hotel Frisco before and after the renovation, it is downtown on their Main Street. Upside is that Frisco bans street parking on that street 2am-6am so no cars are there first thing in the morning. Bet we could block a few spots to accommodate us at 6am and enjoy the day there. For those unfamiliar, Frisco is a fantastic town with a vibrant area, lots of shops, German inspired Hofbraü haus across the street, and other fine restaurants.

I would come the night before and stay at the Hotel Frisco.
I'm in, although I'm probably tight for available weekends through the end of July. August looks wide open right now though.

You know you guys could make the long journey to Grand Junction this weekend. We have another track day this Saturday starting at 8 AM at the Grand Junction Motor Speedway. It would be nice to see some more modded 124s take on the heavily modded Miatas. The track is a KART track so it's about perfect for our cars. I've been trying to talk @68wooley into it. I think he's close.
I have provisional permission for next weekend - drive out Friday afternoon, stay the night in the Grand Junction, track fun Saturday morning then drive back.

Only potential issue is we might have to renew my daughter's passport on Saturday before our cruise in October - still working out if we're going anywhere that has a 6 month validity restriction...I'll know tomorrow one way or the other.
