Our dealer, Benson Fiat in South Carolina, tells us that Fiat will allow them to order 10 Spiders completely to their specs. The catch is that they will arrive next spring. However, if someone wants a specific combination of color and options, this may be the thing to do. I wonder when they will start offering blue as a color :)

Yeah, there's no point in custom ordering with the terrible color selections they're offering, particularly since there aren't that many options available. I'm pretty bleh about all of them, so I'm willing to put up with pretty much whatever I can get in the Lusso/premium/manual configuration.

Europe gets a beautiful metallic blue, which they bafflingly don't offer in the US. I'd kill for that or a metallic deep green or burgundy, as well.

I bet they will offer a blue for the next model year, when it will not be competing with the Prima Edizione blue.
Not sure why we could not have gotten one in the reflex blue like the miata has, it certainly wouldn't have competed for the prima color.

The code guide states "orders are accepted only when vehicles are shipped by the factory". Maybe there are exceptions or plans to change it?

My local dealer, Finday FIAT in Henderson, Nevada was able to get my Lusso Manual Pearl White with saddle interior and premium package and another Gray Lusso Manual on special order in the right combination as well.

Every dealer I have spoken to has stated there are NO SPECIAL ORDERS on the Fiat 124. How is Finday FIAT able to do this when others are not?

Dealers have windows to request special orders at certain times of the month, maybe it's regional? if a vehicle is pre sold than can be allocated to that dealer. I believe they are factors in regarding amount of vehicles they sell and how fast they sell on the lot, which will vary from dealer to dealer in what they can get.

The info came from Benson Fiat. This just came out a few days ago, so if you asked before that, then the answer was correct then.

I think Findlay simply searched for those vehicles in the US and had them shipped in from another dealer. For a car to be special ordered it has to be manufactured in Japan and shipped over, then shipped to the dealer. That is why they have such a long delivery time (next spring).

The spiders arrived thru San Diego, California and looking at the window sticker it was sold to Finday FIAT and not got thru another dealer. It was allocated at port of entry.

Just got a call from the salesman at my dealership. He said they had just opened up and you order one now. I have no idea on the delivery time, but it looks like things are loosening up a bit.

Unfortunately for him, I just bought one from a distant dealership who had what I wanted, which should be shipping it to me shortly.

My dealer told me that once all of the Prima Editions are sold, Fiat will offer a blue in the U.S., just not the same blue.

Is this true for all dealerships? As of Saturday, that was not an option for my dealership. Fiat keeps dumping automatics on them and they sit there unsold. They have a list of us waiting for manuals. Pretty stupid.

Fiat's national inventory updated with about 50 new vehicles in the east. There are now three Lusso/Premium/Manuals available. The silver/black in Maple Shade, NJ, a pearl/black in Houston, and a red/black in Fayetteville, NC. The Houston dealer also has an automatic Abarth listed.

Looks like two manual Lussos with safety & comfort collection, and one without any package.

There's also fifteen Classica manuals, if they're your bag.

Go for them and good luck!

If that's true I'm waiting. And so happy. i would take either of the 2 Mazda blues or any of the blues fiat offers. Please let it be true. A dark blue with the saddle interior would just look awesome IMHO.

Having seen the passione red in the showroom now I have to say it appears a little flat. The volcano black looks great, hoping to track down the bronze as this will pop with the tan interior. The blue or the tricoat white are proving hard to track down too.

The U.K. Fiat dealer stock locator is pretty rubbish as they show an inventory of cars that have already been picked up by their lucky owners.
