Isnt that metal on metal going to cause a ticking while driving?
Its metal foil sound-deadening tile. It'll be fine.

I just got back from a 110 mile drive. Between the noise with the top down, the loud exhaust and AC/DC blaring on the radio I couldn't hear anything. But seriously, as @68wooley said, it's metal foil stuck to sound deadening rubber. You can't hear it and it barely moves anyway.

Figured I'd better give an update on this. On my drive last weekend I smelled burning rubber. Confirmed my suspicion today that the rubber backing had been melting. The solution is not put it on the FMIC hose but rather on top of the steering shaft. Just make sure you smooth it down good so there are no sharp edges sticking up. I also got a zip tie around the hose but it isn't lifting it up much. At this point I think a better solution is to get a small section of 2" pipe insulation and zip tie it around the steering shaft for the hose to lie on.
