Fiat 124 Spider’s Journey To Deauville, France

There’s no denying that the Fiat 124 Spider is a fine specimen with its elegant Italian styling and design features from the original roadster. Now that the weather is improving, it’s time to exercise those wheels and start planning your next top-down drive.

Perhaps Fiat’s new promotional video will inspire you. Called the “diva of open-top vehicles” by FCA, a convoy of 124 Spiders goes on a 235-km trip through the scenic and historical roads between Paris and Deauville, in France.

Starting from the Rond-Point des Champs-Elysées in Paris, 15 Spiders were driven along the Seine River all the while passing scenic sites that provided inspiration to historical figures like Van Gogh, Renoir, Pissarro and Monet. Then it was off to the beautiful village of La Roche-Guyon, Claude Monet’s home in Giverny, and the Les Andelys district before arriving at Deauville on the Côte Fleurie. A town on facing the English Channel with beaches and casinos. Their final destination is the castle of Breuil, a historical monument and an example of the area’s architectural heritage.

The convoy that sweep France off its feet may be small, but it’s a good representation of the 124 Spider’s range: 124 Spider and Lusso, two special series, the 140 hp 1.4 turbo MultiAir engine, and two 6-gear transmissions.
