After announcing the U.S. spec 124 Spider last week, Fiat has opened up the configurator on their American site. Those of you in the states can now visit the build page and create your own virtual 124 Spider.

Fiat’s base model, the 124 Spider Classica, will have a starting price of $24,995 and this doesn’t include the destination fee. There aren’t a lot of packages and options for the base model. All you’ll have to choose from is Fiat’s Technology Collection for an additional $1,295 which includes a 7-Inch Display with AM/FM Bluetooth radio, rear back-up camera, and remote proximity keyless entry. If you choose not to go with their package, you can upgrade the standard 3-inch display to a 7-inch one as a separate option.

One step up is the Spider Lusso with a MSRP of $27,495. Compared to the Classica, The Lusso will come with a standard 7-inch display along with other features like 17-inch wheels, piano black accents, leather-wrapped cluster brow and lower instrument panel, and leather seats. Instead of just one tech package, you have a choice of either a $3,795 Premium Collection package or the $1,495 Safety and Comfort Collection

And finally, there’s the sporty Elaborazione Abarth with standard performance parts like the limited-slip differential and Bilstein shocks. Options include a $3,995 Luxury Collection and a $1,495 Safety and Comfort Collection package.

All trim levels come with the 1.4-liter I4 MultiAir turbo engine and 6-Speed Manual RWD Transmission but you can pay an additional $1,350 for the AISIN 6-Speed automatic RWD transmission.

What does your 124 Spider look like?

OK Stewie & spilner. I've been patiently waiting and from what I can see the US is getting "the first 124 Spiders sold will be known as a $35,000 Prima Edizione Lusso. They’ll be individually numbered and come with commemorative badging as well as an exclusive Azzurro Italia (Blue)/Saddle exterior/interior color scheme. According to FCA, “Consumers who purchase a Prima Edizione also will receive limited-edition items, including a matching blue leather bag, journal with pen and a poster showcasing original design illustration with vehicle dimensions.”

All US Spider trim levels will have the option to get the Bronzo Magnetico Titanium paint as an option (keep that in mind for a minute).

Here in Canada FIAT will offer a limited production of 124 special edition Prima Edizione's available in Bronze Magnetico (Titanium Flash) exterior paint with premium leather seats in Saddle (Brown). This unique exterior colour will only be offered on these first edition units.

What I don't like about the difference here between the two is that there will be countless Spiders in North America in Bronze Magnetico, because it's an option for all 124 Spider trim levels in the US that over time will make their way into Canada therefore lowering the value of our (Canada's) limited edition Prima Edizione Spiders, while the 124 Blue limited edition US Prima Edizione's will REALLY become the collectibles. (the blue is ONLY available on the 124 cars, that's it!).

Also you can't compare the beauty of the Blue Limited Edition models to the Bronze Magnetico (boring!).

I want one of the true collectibles!!!!!

hi.. Ive researched the Canada Launch edition, and there is no premium price in Canada. Its the same price as a loaded Lusso + Premium package + Auto.
As example, check these two stickers:

So as long as the dealer doesnt try to nail you with a premium above MSRP, you are getting the launch edition at the same price as any other loaded Lusso.

Configuring Abarth

I don't see anything about the black hood and decklid. Too soon? I really don't want to pay extra for them.

I'm also hoping for some information about the Mopar cat-back exhaust. Ideally there will be a credit for the factory exhaust.
