Can anyone tell me if the various aftermarket exhaust tips for the Fiat 500 (like 500madness and other sites sell) will straight bolt on to the 124?

Not sure but speaking of exhaust tips someone here had a system made and changed their tips. I remember checking the web site of the company that made the tips but cannot recall who it was so if the person who posted would reply I would appreciate it.

Madness would probably have your answer. I'd give them a call. They purchased their own 124, which has been a test mule for modifications.

I had the same idea to purchase and bolt on aftermarket exhaust tips on my Classica. The external diameter of my stock muffler tips were 2.5 inches, but upon closer inspection I noticed that they tapered very quickly after a few inches so it was a squeeze to get the tips over the ends of the exhaust and then they became very loose. I then noticed that the stock exhaust pipes were not oriented directly parallel to the ground.:crying: So what started out as a quick DIY bolt on project to add some bling to the car hit a roadblock for me.

What I did was visit a local car performance shop and talk to the boys. They told me that they could shave a bit off the exhaust pipe and weld double walled stainless steel tips on there for me. That is what I decided to do. It cost me an extra $60.00 for the cut and weld job, but I am comfortable that I made the right choice over trying to bolt on some tips on my own.

Yeah, I doubt many will choose to do exhaust work themselves, especially when it is so cheap do have it done.


I plan to have the muffler deleted on my Abarth and will get some black tips for them to install at the same time; I will be sure to post the results here.
