Hi

My friend who drives a 500 Abarth told me we have a different engine? He told me the manifolds are different. I was like no ****, you are putting a transverse engine and mounting it longitudinally.. But he insist says his 500 engine is better in every way

and said our internals in the 124 are not forged?

I just want a clarification, and if possible can I have a source

Are the pistons, rods, and Crank forged?

I know the block is cast iron

Why would FIAT (or anyone else) make a specially designed inferior engine for a car that sells 500 per month?

Your friend is dumb. It's the same engine FIAT uses in everything.
Not exactly friend, but you know "friend".

Cast pistons in the 1.4T. Even in the 500.

The crank is forged with tear duct channels. The differences between the two are the coils, oil pan, exhaust manifold, intake manifold and the 124's 1.4 is made in Italy instead of Mexico.

... so the engine itself is the same.
