Good to know all the other crimes are solved so the cops can spend their time on tint and license plate tickets
My rampant speculation is that unless they drive past you and do a check in the rear view mirror, that if they don't see a front plate they just assume it's an "out of state" vehicle. I certainly can't blame you for not putting one on, as there's just no way to do it in a manner that doesn't detract from the beautiful looks of the front of the vehicle.I've been driving without a front plate since I bought the car and haven't been pulled over once.
Did you use a lower mounting bracket, or did you drill your lower trim? Far less intrusive in that lower position, so if I had to mount one, that would be a good position. Well done. Here's what I did. Low, centered, and legal.
oooohhh.... now that, is nice! I wonder if Greg has watched this?
Did you have the actual front plate with you, like in the trunk, or not at all. It means more to show you have it and offer a lame excuse why it’s not mounted and promise to do better in the future.Amigos,
A couple of months ago I got pulled over for not having a front license plate in Ontario. I still don't have the front license plate. How bad can it get?
Is it just $$ or is there some demerit point danger?
I had the front plate in my trunk. I even had the mounting bracket. I think I'll just keep going with it off. Treetopflyer showed me a very easily removable ones maybe I'll get that. I did ask a police officer buddy and he kind of said the officers will use it as a reason to pull you over and find a hopefully better reason (tints or whatever) to give you a ticket.Did you have the actual front plate with you, like in the trunk, or not at all. It means more to show you have it and offer a lame excuse why it’s not mounted and promise to do better in the future.
This is my plan! If anyone has a lame excuse for something it's me.Did you have the actual front plate with you, like in the trunk, or not at all. It means more to show you have it and offer a lame excuse why it’s not mounted and promise to do better in the future.
3 holes underneath, with rubber well nuts (like what they use to hold motorcycle fairings on).Did you use a lower mounting bracket, or did you drill your lower trim? Far less intrusive in that lower position, so if I had to mount one, that would be a good position. Well done.
Chainringtattoo’s card probably results in a double fine wit local LE.Yeah, but a CI told me you have a Get Out of Jail Free card.
Next time tell the officer it's a Mazda MX5, with a engine swap and body kit. (which it is... kind of...) >...
I should also clarify when I got pulled over, I didn't have a my drivers license on me (just wore the wrong jacket...) so my CAD 75 ticket was actually for not presenting my driver's license. The officer also had no idea what my car was, she suspected it was an overly modified S2000.
