Hi guys!

I’m actually here because my boyfriend (22) is a big Abarth fan and I was looking for Abarth related Christmas gifts.

He currently owns a 595 Turismo and is looking at getting a 124 Spider next. His dream spec is the white one with the heritage pack and red interior/mirrors.

I’d love to get him some sort of model/diecast of his current car for a keepsake before he changes, or of his dream 124 spec.

Does anyone know where I can find one online for a decent price? As he’s not into collecting them I don’t want to pay over the odds for one.

Any other gift recommendations welcome too!

Hello Amy and Welcome......What you are looking for comes in 1/43 scale (dinky/corgi car size) and the EXACT 124 Spider you want is available at 34.95 euros from miniature-minichamps (IXO MOC294) ...type heading into goggle of Minichamps 124 Spider Abarth and up will pop this car along with below it......from diecastlegends a Red/Black truescale miniature (1.43 scale) 124 Spider Abarth at £66.00.
For future reference....1.43 scale "Minichamps" are very good quality models...some others are horrible ! 1.18th scale models are also popular but nearly the size of a narrow shoebox.........Hope this helps and be QUICK as folk here will also grab them on seeing this.....Cheers

Amy, here's a link on Ebay.com for a Diecast Abarth 1:18, he wants $127.00 US plus $15.00 shipping, several of us bought from him last year and we got it for $100.00 shipping included to Canada. The Diecast was very well packed and delivered with 2 weeks. If you're interested, contact the seller make them an offer of $120.00 shipping included and see what he comes back with. If you agree on the price, ask them how to go about. Good luck here's mine, I had a special plaque made Since I took nol. 1000 on the diecast. LOL

There are 4 different models in that spec and they can all be found on eBay. 1:18 and 1:43 pictured here. There is also another 1:43 and a tiny 1:57 (I have it mounted on my dashboard :D).

1:1 model also in that picture, looking very lifelike, however the Abarth badge on the side seems to have fallen off? :D

The larger models aren't cheap, but the mid range 1:43 aren't too bad. I was just doing some searching and they seem to be harder to find than they used to be. A quick Google search lists a few shops that have them in stock.

But many of us sourced them from European suppliers and added them to complete the Abarth trim. You should still consider doing that if you can lay hands on them. I suspect they're going to become even more scarce now that the 124 is no longer sold in the UK, and production for hte entire planet has ceased. Did you also do the steering wheel badge, or did your 2018 come with the Abarth branded wheel?

For the 1:18 scale, the source Frankmar noted is the best bet. It's from a ghost shift at the factory where the offical ones are made, so it's not serial numbered, but aside from that it's the exact same model. And as he mentioned, the eBay seller will sell for less than he's asking. You just have to enquire, and he'll reply confirming the lower price.

Whatever the OP decides to go with will be greatly appreciated, and then she (and he) can look forward to top down driving in the sun when he buys the 1:1 scale version. :)

It's an early 2018, Fiat badge on the wheel. Doesn't bother me though. I don't feel like putting a sticker over it.

Aren't they on Abarths with Record Monza exhaust?

I'm generally leery of eBay but tempted by that 1:18.

Please share a picture of your dashboard-mounted 1:57.

Might be a Canada thing. You guys had the option to spec the cars with the record monza exhaust but it isn't an option on the Canadian configurator.

No pics of my 1:57 as the car is in storage. It's this one. The roof is removable.

I'm sorry Canadians were denied the Record Monza exhaust. Too loud for your regs?

I thought your picture of the car and the two scale models might have been taken just for this post with the garage door partly open in anticipation of giving the engine some exercise. That 1:57 almost looks like a really special bar of soap (one really not meant to be used). Neat that the roof is removable.
