As a new owner, I was taking stock of the storage cubby behind the driver seat today. Thinking back to the 2006 mx5 I once had, the bins were larger and hard sided.

These are a little odd in that the door isn't hinged and the pockets are soft sided (I assume that is for weight savings but would make me think twice about putting something crushable in there when actuating the soft top). In fact if this was my first roadster, I probably would have overlooked these cubbies as access panels.

So I got to wondering: What uses have folks found for this welcome if awkward storage? :)

Have not looked at mine. I guess I could look at the passenger cubby, but I don't like moving my driver seat.

Since both of those behind-the-seat cubbies are a chore to access, I only store items which would be used rarely: such as a first aid kit, the tow hook, and a few extra micro fiber towels.

If you keep the top up, there is storage toward the rear window, beyond the head rest. Might come in handy while shopping on a road trip.

I think I'll end up moving the first aid kit in there from the trunk as well as a few Earthquake related items.

Yes, I only store items which would be used rarely...like my condoms, KY, and my
Viagra, plus a couple of classics Playboys.

Wife will never find them there!!! LOL

Do you know there is a spot for the tow hook right below the Tire kit in the trunk? A slot where that piece of metal fits perfect.

A "slot"? I see an indentation but not a way to secure the tow hook. I put the ugly thing in the cubby behind the passenger seat and hope to never have to use it, lol. Trunk space is a premium, and I might have to put an extra pair of shoes there or something.

Is the tow hook in the tire kit in the trunk or was it something you bought?

They should be in the trunk. The tire kit is in the black box attached to the convertible well wall. Cheers

I have a Lusso, and I can't find my tow hook. Is it in the build sheets?? Is it hiding somewhere in the trunk?? If I don't have one, and I'm suppose to, do I go hit up the dealer for one.??

Thanks

My tow hook is in the roadside bag, or at least I assume it is. I can see the outline of the hook in the bottom of the bag.
