Driving dynamics seem quite interesting and something i'll be on the look out for in comparison to the Miata.

But i might even go for the hard top Miata and get an aftermarket suspension setup to my liking then later upgrade power. Got a while to decide on either direction.

What do you like most about the miata that the 124 doesn't have?

Not planning, I am getting one. Wifey has already approved it :)

I am a performance enthusiast, plus I am in that business so mine will be pretty souped up. I don't know yet if I'll get the E Abarth or the standard car.

Greg
Nice!

Glad your wifey approved it! haha :D

Share some pictures when you're doen souping it up! Excited for you!

When are you getting your car?

Thanks Spidey. I don't know when I am getting it, neither does the dealer :) Fiat is keeping a tight lid on this car.

To soup it up a bit, I'm planning on lowering it to Euro ride height, probably via springs and keeping the Bilstein shocks. I'll upgrade all four wheels to fixed piston calipers, and bump the engine initially after about a week of ownership to 200hp, then incrementally up to 300.

Can you bump it to 200hp with just a tune? How about 300hp will that require expensive parts and labor, will the clutch hold up at 300hp? I'm eventually going to get a 124 because it is so much better looking the the MX-5 and it seems getting 200hp out of it will be much easier then getting 200hp from the Mazda MX-5 ND

Hi fog hog,

Yes, easily.

To get to 300hp it will need a bigger turbo, intercooler, tune, intake, and some other upgrades. In other words, going from 250 up to 300 is quite expensive. The clutch is an unknown at this point.

You are making the right choice. I can promise you we will be able to provide 200hp shortly after the car's release.

You may want to check out eurocompulsion.net and take a look at the upgrades for the 500 Abarth. I own HPSI Motorsports, and we make a lot of stuff for eurocompulsion (we are really one company at the retail level for Fiats). We make three of their intakes, V2, V3, and V4, their intercooler kit, all their tunes and more. We are already deep in development stage for the 124.
