I had a local shop (RSW) throw on H&R lowering springs on my Abarth 124 today. Here are my initial impressions after driving about 15-20 miles:
- From a handling stand point on the street, they ride maybe 10-15% harsher than stock. In NJ we have lots of potholes and shitty roads so it definitely translates here.
- It definitely inspires more confidence and less body roll when cornering hard. There's a corner I take on my way home and the hardest I've hit that corner previously was 0.73g. Today it was 0.83g.
- Aesthetically, it doesn't lower the car as aggressively as I wanted it to. But supposedly it should drop some more after it settles. We'll see. What it did a good job of was creating a stance. I felt like the stock car was too flat from front to back. It dropped the rear of the car 1/2" and 7/8" up front. From a non-scientific standpoint, the front used to have a 4 finger gap. Now it's a 2 finger gap.
- I have some race wheels/tires that are +1 size at 215/45R17 so hopefully that fills up the gap in the wheel wells.
Attached are before and after. To the left is the after.
