Hi guys

I got my Abarth last Friday, drove 350Km already and I love it.

Yeah I know she is dirty >:)
I'm new to RWD, lot's of fun, but with new tyres and wet roads... I didn't test it that hard

I'm sure you'll grow to love RWD when you get accustomed to it. The car will actually go where you point it regardless of where your right foot is. The rearend won't want to step out on you if you get off the throttle a bit in a turn, and it won't understeer when you hit the gas exiting a turn. Enjoy!

My problem is when I hit the pedal and the rear end want to step out, I'm used to the opposite in situation like that, I have to retune my brain

When my dad got the first Grande Punto Abarth back in 2007 it was a big eye-catcher, when he got the Evo one in 2010 it was more "normal" thanks to the 500.

Keep in mind that here the Monza exhaust is stock, the car is available since just 2 weeks and in a radius of 50 Km from me there is just 5 Abarth dealer, each just with one car for sale, all the other 4 are still for sale as far as I know.

I got a LOT of thumb up, car flashing at me, but noone actually stop to see the car parked.
My friends and relative like it, the only complain I got are about the lower seat position and the difficulty to enter/sit on it.

To tell the truth I don't care about what other think about my car, what matter is that I LOVE IT, My old car is 20 years old and I keep it for some reason, thinking about driving it sometime, but I'm not that sure right now ;)
I bought it on impulse, just after 10 minutes "test drive", I don't regret it

For me the only problem with this car is the body roll, my old car is much more stiffer, and the electric power steering, but I'm get used to both

Once you go back to driving RWD cars you get hooked. I've had a few hot hatches and loved them. My Renaultsport Megane Cup in particular was an epic drivers car capable of seeing off cars more than 3 times its price on a windy road, but the purity of a well sorted RWD chassis just sucks you in. We now have a Subaru BRZ and an Abarth 124 in the garage...and I'm looking to replace the BRZ with a Lotus in the new year.

Thanks for the photos and congratulazioni! My Abarth will look exactly like yours when I'm finished with it. it arrives in a few days. In the US we don't have the black Heritage stripe yet so I will have to have it done by a local shop. I've ordered the red pieces, as they are omitted in the US. We get dark gray instead. Did you get the red seats?

Forgot a little thing...
A basic Abarth here cost 44000 USD which is a LOT for "Fiat".
Mine is around 46 and in the US a similar spec to mine is around 33

Abarths come standard with a front strut tower brace.
Yes it's standard, also body roll is standard with all Miatas.
My old car is not on standard coil. I will say the 124 use softer spring, but the body is more stiffer, if you understand what I mean.

By memory it's stainless, will take some pics tomorrow.

I have the Abarth emblem on the wheel

I'm getting it wrapped Friday! I'll do a post afterwards, with photos.
I was thinking of getting mine wrapped in protective film, but they told me that you will see that extra layer, anyone have any thought?

The biggest issue for you is that you have a painted matte hood. While you can always see a line in any clear mask it is worth it for most. But in your case the matte black hood will look glossy where the film is. You could do it everywhere but the matte black paint.

For wrapping the best way to go is to clear mask first then add the matte/satin wrap on top to avoid the glossy situation. And yes, you may need to have new vinyl applied every few years since it will get hit directly.

Please explain why you recommend a "clear mask first" when you can just put a clear matte/satin wrap on it. Xpel offers the clear matte and completely wraps entire cars with it for a stunning look.
