Trying to understand what options there are to get Waze running on my 124 (in the UK). I've picked up that Android Auto is not always well thought-of - is that still the case, and if so what alternatives are there ? I guess that now the 124 is discontinued there will be no upgrades forthcoming from FCA.

Android Auto or Apple Carplay, depending on what phone you have, are the only ways to get Waze to display on the in-car screen. Instructions on adding those are at:

Alternatively, you're looking at a good phone holder.

There will not be any significant updates to the ICE software from FCA - bear in mind its a Mazda system, not FCA's own system.

Thanks - is there any way of using Android Auto via Bluetooth rather than USB cable (thereby possibly avoiding Part 2 of the instructions) ?

Honestly, not sure. I've never used AA - only CarPlay.

It uses both. Audio over Bluetooth and video over usb. The newer version has WiFi but I haven’t quite got that working right yet.
