My only complaint about the 124 interior is the protrusion of the curved door handle into the driver's leg area. On longer drives I like to bend my left leg and rest it against the door. In the 124 my knee hits the hard surface of the door handle, which is very uncomfortable.

I was thinking about the idea of getting a velcro fastening leather door handle wrap (see photo, I'm not sure which car this is from but there are several such wraps on the market) and cushioning the inside with foam. Since the 124 is so new, I wonder if there is an existing handle wrap from another make & model which might fit.

Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

I agree Jim. The MX-5 handle is better in that regard, but I've read that it's location in the 124 makes it much easier to reach for shorter people when closing the door (especially fully open), compared to the MX-5.

It may be easier for someone to just come out with a whole new pair of flexible leather replacement handles if they're not an integral part of the door trim panel.

Mine doesnt hit the handle itself, but the door panel itself I believe, right by where the window switches are, at the edge. I havent thought of an appropriate solution that doesnt look bad

I suggest you buy knee pads at a sport store, cheaper and it's not static. Once one wears out, you have the other one. LOL

You could always buy a 124 with the steering wheel on the right side!;)
No knee problems in UK, only keeping right foot off the floor!
