LH/RH specific 124 Abarth side badge P/Ns

TL;DR: There are 124-specific left & right part numbers for the Abarth side badges, there doesn't seem to be a difference either side or from the 500 badges.

I ordered the Abarth side badges from a UK parts dealer - they listed separate part numbers for the right hand side and left hand side. The PN that some other retailers list seem to be the one from the 500 Abarth, so I figured I'd check these out to see if there was actually a difference. I thought that maybe they were mirrored so that the graphics pointed forward on both sides, or some other detail I couldn't see from the EU press photos. They really do have different PNs and packaging, but side by side I can't see any difference - they don't appear to be mirrored, or curved differently. Seems to me that anyone wanting to put these badges on can ignore the part numbers and get the badges no matter which PN or if they're listed for the 500 or 124.

on the pictures, the badge with the red backing is LH

I took a second look and I noticed something that *might* be 124 specific - there is a slight curve in both directions on the badge. It's fairly small, maybe a little less than 1mm on the center vs. the edges. If the 500 badge has any slight curve to it as well I'd bet it would fit fine, since the adhesive backing will form itself to the surface anyways.

Great post! I've been wondering about this.
I purchased mine from 500 Madness for $40 each. There were no differences between the left & right sides and they fit perfectly.

Are any of the Brits, Europeans and Aussies shaving off the emblems to make their Abarths look like U.S. versions? Just wondering, since a lot of people like cars without a lot of badges.

Not that I've seen...but I've only seen about 7 and 4 of those were in a showroom.
I've only seen 4, 2 were red/black full options testdrive cars, 1 is mine and the other 1 was already sold.
Very common from my tier 1 supplier time that the exact same part will have two different part numbers for each side of the car, even when not mirror-imaged.

For Chrysler family (not sure if carried over into FCA), even number = right-hand side.

Today I installed proper Abarth fender badges. First step in acquiring the European look!
I had bought (and returned) a cheap Chinese-made pair (picture attached of pair where the concave surface of the colored filler can be seen). Terrible - no curvature on body of badge and with 3M tape (or whatever it was) all the way to the edges so the tape would have been visible all round. Not good.
The ones I went with are the metallic ones which match the look of the installed Abarth hood and trunk emblems - part #'s 6834 8940 AA and 6834 9018 AA. RH and LH with the proper moulded-to-body curvature. FYI: they sit 66 millimeters (just shy of 2 5/8") above the side light as verified by overseas owners.
The USA price for these is around $55 each - madness. The UK price is $40 with $2.50 shipping each.

I love the badges.
I've got the OEM fender badges as well. Imho you need to get OEM for exterior badges.
I added this beauty. I actually get tons of compliments and interest about them

Hi Treetopflyer, I ordered these after seeing yours. Can you give me the placement measurements from to Abarth badge and side light that you used? These are made to ordeer so who knows how long it will take to get here.

Sure. My car is in getting the ceramic coating touched up and I'm off to Rome tonight.
I can get the measurements to you by weeks end?
Thanks.
You'll enjoy the badges. They look so amazing on the car.
Hey TreeTopFlyer; Like you, I just ceramic coated my red Abarth. Do you have any concerns about the side badges sticking to that? I asked my detail shop owner and he thought it should work. Just don't want them falling off. Thanks, DesertScorpion

I was told put all badges/ stickers on first. All my badges were applied prior to the ceramic coating.
I had to send the car back since the ceramic didn't work on the roof. It was still a sponge after the coating. They are trying the roof coating again. Fingers crossed

Ok back home now. Here's some shots wth a ruler. Hope it helps. Let me know if you need any others
And these measurements were just what I eye-balled. Not actually taken from anyplace.
