Auto Express have a review of the new MX-5 up.

Smaller, over 100kg lighter and more efficient than its predecessor, the new Mazda MX-5 has gone back to its roots in a bid to offer genuine lightweight sports car thrills for buyers whose pockets aren’t deep enough for a Porsche Boxster.

For:
Everyday usability, striking looks, agile handling

Against:
Small boot, some cheap interior materials, no hot range-topper

Great little car, perfect for a lot of people, but hardly the be-all end-all. Room for Fiat to make some improvements. :)

I see they criticise the small boot but do they not realise its going to have a small boot? Of course it is! It's a 2 seater roadster lol.

I don't know who is going out to buy a Miata and thinking that they are going to get ample trunk space. LOL.

For the price though, the Miata is a great car. I do wonder how Fiat will make changes to the Miata to make it its own.

I'm happy with this quote from the review. Ultimately, the Miata is a great looking car that is fun to drive, and its hard to argue with that (unless you are looking for something more practical.)

To state the obvious, driving feel is what the MX-5 is all about – it has built its reputation on serving up playful dynamics at an affordable price and the new version doesn’t disappoint.

Disappointed in AutoExpress, they could have picked something else about the Miata to pick at than its boot space. Even if they picked on power delivery i'd be happier with that.
