I am looking at getting my 1978 Fiat 1800 back on the road. It has been sitting in my garage for years. I ran it off and on over the years. I need a good mechanic to get it back in running shape. I live in Westchester County, just north of NYC.
can anyone help me and refer me to a good mechanic?
I appreciate everyone’s help. This car makes me smile!

I'm a bit far off to recommend anything other than pick up with your local Fiat Club guys or look up Classic Car specialists in your area. Be good to keep another classic 124 Spider alive. I've got a 1974 and a 2016 here in Scotland. G

Thanks, G. I am really looking forward to driving my “baby” this summer, top down, flying around the curves! Hope you are enjoying your cars. Thanks for your advice!

Welcome to the forum, but I too would also suggest searching for a forum that's dedicated to the older model 124 Spider. You will get some responses here as many owners of the current version also owned the earlier model, but my speculation is that enquiries might be better served in a different venue. You'll find that 99.9% of the conversation here is about the current version (MY 2016 ~ 2020) 124 Spider. I hope you're able to find a good mechanic who's familiar with your baby to bring it back to pristine operating condition.

Also, as SpagWagonScot suggested; connecting with a local owner's group is a great thing to do for many reasons. Comradery, connections, group events, all sorts of good things.

Hi
I have two suggestions in Fairfield County Connecticut
Accurate Auto in Norwalk is Awesome
They do great work and are fair & honest
Also check out Newenglandclassics.com
They have lots of cars for sale, and my guess is
That they could help.
I haven’t used them for services so please do your due diligence
Good luck!
