He lost me at Fiata. I don’t like the term. If he wanted to test the proper car he should have tested the Abarth with the Monza exhaust and pushed the sport button. Overall OK, but he is just not my cup of tea. I would never have bought a classica nor a lusso, so I guess the review was not really for me anyways.

i thought the review had some good points, and was entertaining, but yeah, not comparing it to the abarth or having the sport button on raised eyebrows for me also. looks like an old review that was just uploaded to YT

I haven't even watched the review and your review of the review is a bit critical!

Fiata: Like it or not a lot of people use the term endearingly or in a complimentary manner. Not derisive or dismissive.

Monza Exhaust: Whocares? It's an option not the entire car.

Didn't test the Abarth: Only valid if he criticized the car for things the Abarth could do better without acknowledging that the Abarth exists an an option.

You wouldn't buy a Classica or Lusso: BFD? Lots of people would, including a lot of people who realize the value in them as if your'e going to upgrade suspension components/tune ANYWAY and not pay for the "Monza" exhaust, all that leaves to equal or exceed an Abarth is doing a diff upgrade if that's important to you... Your choice, my choice. Doesn't make the review bad for him not having chosen what YOU wanted to see.

The usual biased claptrap from a "journalist" who can't be seen to disagree with their peers.

When was excessive body roll ever touted as "good" in a sports car, (except here).

I remember watching some of these videos back when I was buying. I do love watching the car careen through costal roads. I think there are lots of valid points but for me, I simply drove both/all options and made a personal decision on the Fiat based on that experience. Aesthetics are personal choice obviously. I love, love, love how my 124 looks. My wife says "it's a Miata for grown-ups", fair enough.
On a side note, pulled my car out after being off-site in storage since November (I'm Canadian and winters really do suck here) and could not have gotten it started without this forum. Thanks!!!

The criticism about it not being a review of the Abarth are dumb. This review was originally published before the Abarth was released when FCA was doing press activities and had Lusso’s in the press fleet.

Jason Camissa is quite fair on the car, and it ended up faster than the ND1 Miata in their auto cross course. It’s a good video that’s entertaining and he was very positive about the car.

Those offended by the term Fiata, really? There’s a club for you with the Zupra and Saabaru owners.

I mean, everyone could've gone with Mazdiat instead....
Sill considered a hairdressers car (yeah, I went there). Went to the BMW store to look at a Z4, but it had been sold…to a hairdresser. (Gawd damn it!)

Whe I was buying, I was praying for bad reviews. I knew what it was, what I was getting…except I couldn’t find one! Local fiat dealer was useless, web site was tough to find one (none on the typical car sites). Through the fiat web site found one in South Carolina and Texas, and that was it (perla white Abarth manual, with all the trimmings). Didn’t want them to be sold, due to good reviews!

Quite an open minded review, and generally positive abouth the car - As others have said, this is an old video and the Abarth may not have been a thing back then. There are obviously similarities between the Fiat and Mazda, and the differences are interesting.

I actually like Jason Camissa's style (Fiata comment notwithstanding!). As wacky as he can be, he is very knowledgable and appears to be a real car enthusiast - I recommend his Revelations series on Hagerty's channel for some well researched history on interesting cars.
