The Abarths are coming in one or two at a time, at least half the time with auto transmission, almost never with the luxury package, certainly not with the Brembo brakes, and forget about getting the desired color or interior. So, I want to order my dream Abarth -- manual, luxury, aluminum color, red/black sport leather seats, and Brembo brakes. I don't mine waiting 7 months for it. But all the dealers here (portland, or) say they don't have the ability to special order anything. They just get what they get and have no say about it. What can I do? Any help out there?

Bypass the dealers and demand an explanation from Fiat as to why their dealers won't allow you to order what is advertised as "optional" on Fiat's website.

Make it a morning practice of doing a national check on Cars.com and Cargurus.com (both will send you daily notifications of new listings). Also do a daily check on Cars.com. On a fluke, I found mine on an a rare eBay listing.

Be willing to have a long distance car shipped (mine was $1,100 From NC to CA) or if closer, fly out and turn it into a fun road trip.

Be willing to have the Brembos done on your own.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll find what your looking for. PS: I've heard a rumor that a second shipment is arriving in San Diego.

TB, the story I got from Tonkin in Beaverton was they couldn't special-order cars until at least mid-2017, and until then they were stuck with their allotment, and couldn't tell me more than a month or so out what exactly they were getting. The sales people seemed pretty frustrated over having to sell all those Lussos with automatics! The only manuals they had were Classicas - at least I got to test-drive one of those.

I concentrated my search on PNW dealers, and found a Lusso manual, argento grigio instead of red, with the Premium package, at Rairdon Fiat in Kirkland, WA. They showed it on their website without a picture, but with a pdf of the sticker, which showed the exact description of the car and its options. I tried to dicker on price but they wouldn't budge from msrp minus the $500 rebate, but I took the plunge anyway and sent my deposit while the car was still on the truck from San Diego. When I picked it up, the sales gal said that as far as she know it was the only Lusso Premium with manual trans available on the west coast. That was a week ago. Maybe you'll get lucky when the next shipload arrives - don't give up!!;)

Happened to notice the dealer where I bought my Lusso has several Abarths - some manual, some autos, ranging from about $26K to $32K. I was surprised to see them so low. Holt Fiat in Hurst, TX. They delivered my car. Just FYI.

I got lucky and got what I wanted minus Brembo's (Abarth, manual, red, safety package, Recaro). I have brake tools and vacuum bleeding kits so I can go aftermarket easily enough and decided I wasn't going to hold up a purchase because of that.

I originally was leaning luxury package and pearl white but wasn't happy with the price tag and absolutely fell in love with the red. I work from home and that was a lot of cash for a vehicle that won't have to suffer through commutes. The safety package is far less of a hit to the wallet and includes a few gadgets I like.

I had to get from Raleigh, NC to Sarasota, FL to get it, but I already had a vacation/flight planned so all that required is a side trip from Orlando to Sarasota and all that cost me is a $47 one way car rental and a $15 Uber trip. The bright side is that I'm spending a week with the top down in Orlando, which was WELL worth the cost of getting from Orlando to Sarasota.

After ordering my Red manual Abarth with comfort Package, I walked into the dealer to test it. There I was greeted by my salesperson and top Sales Manager. By his approach he wanted to sell me badly same car but but with Prime(Deluxe collection) package. So I let him talk, any way, these guys want to sell so bad what ever Fiat sends them. The offer is so gooooooood, if your budget permits you cannot refuse it.

Car will be registered as of jan 2017 but they will stored till April 2017. Never has such a great deal on a New car in my life, and I am a Cheap *******, but their offer made me look like an amateur. Love this. LOL

Same situation in that I got what I wanted minus the Brembos (Gelato white with red seats). I've decided to go with the red Wilwood brakes instead. They are less expensive and have good reviews.

My dealer in Indianapolis said they get an allotment and can either accept it or reject it. They've been accepting all that they've been allotted. They said that the second Prima Edition car they got was just listed as a blue lusso on the inventory sheet. They did not realize it was a Prima car until it hit the lot. I think it was sold an hour later.

Out of curiosity, when did you pick this up? I was getting ready to grab that exact one before I got mine, but I already had a deposit at a different dealership, and they wouldnt play nice with each other. I ended up getting a silver luxury package instead, so no Brembos or Recaros for me either
