When I'm using the pandora app streaming off my phone, it disconnects every few minutes and reconnects, saying an error with connectivity. When streaming amazon music it is quite stable. Anyone else have issues with the Pandora app and solution to getting it working right. Using ip7 with latest ios10 os.

Thanks,

mg

did a software update check using my vin on the fiat/Chrysler site and they didn't show any updates. Can the Mazda version 59 be loaded, or is that unexplored territory? Mine is 56 right now, same as yours.

If I were you, I wouldn't upgrade the OS. I'm sure you can find an alternative to Pandora ;) Perhaps it's a iPhone thing, since vjamison812 reports it working OK (is he using Android?)
Some of the tweaks don't work for version 59, so just enjoy until your first oil change, when Fiat may upgrade your OS, if is available then.

Will definitely not be the trail-blazer here and will hold off. Thanks for the warning and prudent advice. I'm sure it's something to do with the iPhone 7 app and the Pandora app in the car. The main reason I like having the full app in the car is it let's me select different genres, etc without having to pull the phone out using the on-screen controls. Less important, you get the album art, which I don't get when streaming Amazon, Rhapsody etc.

I'll keep an eye on the fiat/u connect site and check for updates on occasion and hope it shows up.

Are you running the free Pandora or the subscription? When I subscribed a few weeks ago on my Apple desktop computer, it stopped cutting out. I certainly hope Pandora works well when I get my Abarth (with the Luxury Package), as I'm not a big fan of Sirius XM and their corrupt billing practices.

using the Pandora free service. It keeps saying it is a connectivity issue, but Bluetooth works fine with other internet streaming, phones, etc. Definitely tied to the Pandora thing. My NC/Kinivo adapter had similar issues with the Rhapsody streaming app but was flawless with Pandora and Amazon. Hoping the CMU update fixes it.

It actually rained here in Socal this morning, so drove my truck today. Streamed Bluetooth Pandora from my phone all the to the office no hitches. So it's something to do with the dedicated Spider pandoa app that hopefully version 59 of the cmu will take care of.

I just use Freebie Pandora...it works fabulously, in fact, it has worked so good, I am thinking of dropping Sirius when the one year trial is over.

Looks like using the RTFM method has resolved this issue. Was reading the entertainment console manual online and it mentions that you need to have your version of Pandora running on the phone logged in. Though I generally do have it running, Apple will often shut it down during the day while at work, most likely doing memory shuffles or whatever.

So when I fire up pandora in the car, it will work but intermittently without the actual Pandora phone app running. If I shut down Pandora and restart it on the phone right before the drive, so far 100% connectivity.

Does Pandora work kind of like Sirius? Or do you have to stream it from your phone? If so, why the app option for Pandora? Couldnt you just hard wire plug in your phone and choose the AUX option?

The app connects via your phone. Same for the other music apps like Aha. That way you can use the car's touchscreen interface rather than mess with your phone.

I find they all work pretty well. And depending on the stream can sound much better than Sirius.

Charge via USB for most smartphones.
It's not high output but it does charge.

Thanks kpoling, Do you happen to know that if I get the connection wire for my phone to go into the aux port if that will also charge my phone? Or is it better to go usb?

my understanding is that the car is capable of fast charging if you use a charging only cable (one that does not allow data transfer between the car and the phone) that is fast charging capable, or you use a standard fast charge cable and just deal with the phone trying to connect with the phone. but if you are trying to use the phone to stream you might not want it to connect to the car..
