Is there a Fiat club in the metro area?
Just got my Spider and was looking for other owners to talk to and share with.

Hi Woodzman, it was nice to meet you when you swung through Dallas. Very nice looking car, I really like the hood vent stripes.
Thanks Bandit, It was nice of you to take the time and show me your car when I picked up the wheels. I'm going to keep your number in my phone & when I'm back in August maybe we can do lunch and you can see my car in person. I was going to ask what speaker up grade did you do? I think the wires are already behind the seats in my car & have been thinking about a up grade myself.
You can check that out here: New Rear Speakers
FYI, I am using an aftermarket amp to power these speakers. This is because the rear speakers in the Spider are the units in the headrest. These are little more than headphone speakers with very low power requirements. To run component speakers like the ones I installed will need an aftermarket amp and a PAC adapter to get line level output from the factory audio system to drive the amp.
Just Googled Devil's Highway and it looks like a wonderfully twisty and scenic drive. I would love to join you guys but sometimes Texas is just too big. Your home near El Paso, Texas is farther from me in Dallas, Texas than from your house to Devils Highway, which is two states away!

But never say never. Give me a 2-3 weeks heads up and just maybe..

PS: Found a video posted by a Miata club driving 191 if anyone is interested.

Any way you could make the one in April? I’m driving down from Northern California and would love to meet as many forum members as possible!
The April run is the one I am making plans to attend.

Just out of curiosity, what is it on the 500 that needs to be repaired?
1. Something in the suspension is broke.. possibly axel?
2. Needs a transmission rebuild (pops out of 3rd grinds in reverse? - haven't found a transmission shop.
3. Needs some new spark plug wires (I can do this)
I'd suggest a dealer. Most small shops won't take that type of work and most transmission shops don't know how to work on Fiats.
Yes, counting down the hours. I'll hit the road around 5 AM on Friday and will be here:
Sky Mountain Natural landscape Building Plain

in Las Cruces, New Mexico by mid-afternoon. The plan is to meet up with @alltimesaresoon the morning of the 8th, and head to Clifton, Arizona where will we rendezvous with the rest of the group..

Yes, its true. My spider is no more. Driving back from the Devil's Highway in Arizona, I got caught in a flash flood in a small Texas town called Rotan. This is it on a nice day.

I saw this as I was heading that way

And this was the result

It looks like I'm in the middle of a lake, but this is main street. South Cleveland Street to be exact. And this is after the water went down, it was to the top of the doors during the storm. And here is some of the aftermath. Water was up to the base of the steering wheel.

This is two days later at the shop. Nothing works, everything is shorted out.
Bye-bye spider!

But before she went, we had one magnificent last ride. Six Fiat 124 Abarth Spiders gathered in Clifton, Arizona to take on the Devil's Highway. Featuring over 400 curves in 123 miles, US Route 191 (aka, the Coronado Trail Scenic Byway)

Just heard from the insurance company. They are going to total the car. Waiting to hear what they offer me. A quick search of 2017 124 Spider Abarths comes back with 22k-25K, and mine only had a bit over 18K miles on it.

To add insult to injury, a Kenstyle carbon fiber D-shape steering wheel I purchased was just delivered today. Looks like I'll be putting that up for sale.

Hate to ask, and sorry if too soon, but what's next?
Car is in a lot 200 miles away. Not going to go through the hassle of getting a flatbed to part it out.
The go-cart was fun, but one and done.
