Plastic engine cover

So I really didn't like the black plastic engine cover, I sanded the silver and shiny areas. and then applied wrinkle finish black to it. Turned out pretty good and will work until someone comes up with a nice CF one.

I'll take a pic of it over the weekend.

actually you know a red wrinkle finish might not be bad.

Actually, there is a red Abarth 124 on sale in Italy with this engine cover:

I think it's a preproduction unit with a cover intended to go final(it was also shown in the promotional shots) but cut for costs to the standard plastic cover.

Is there an interest in carbon fiber engine covers for this car? I ask because we do make those. Here is our cover and Intake on the 500 Abarth:

Greg
I'm interested. I have also seen a CF fuse box cover. Do you make those?

This is certainly in the right direction, imo. It's has a much heavier (and less flimsy) appearance than the stock cover. It would be amenable to different finishes and badging as well. I'd be curious as to how this would look in matte crinkle red, black, or silver.

I would be very surprised if someone has trouble deciding if they should buy that or not because odds are its just about the best looking cover that will be available to us. Only thing I would change is the color of the color of the Abarth lettering and the Logo, maybe add some red.

Greg, Is this still in the works? The OEM cover just looks so flimsy. I want something else!
Yup, it's in the works, along with other stuff. Thanks for asking.

(Yanked the cover before I left the lot... not a fan of non-functional bits, especially in places no one else will ever see.)

Just 3 plugs in holes. Just pull on a corner and the rest will pop out
I can't see it...no picture

I saw on Facebook, that a Japanese tuner had made these up. Asked for costing, but haven't had a reply yet.

Greg, would love to hear more about your solution too!

Did you ever hear back on these items? I love the look of the top one with the scorpion logo... Need that Abarth branding... :)

Or if you could just pass on the contact info and I would reach out to them as well. Greatly appreciated...

Hi Greg, please make sure to notch the rear to accommodate aftermarket ignition coils for example NGEN or Alfa 4c coils. Cheers

I have scorpion envy as well after seeing the Abarth logo on the engine cover. I have some additional round Abarth logos from the set that I used to cover the steering wheel center, but it just doesn't look right when I attempt to position it over the Fiat logo. That octagon area is difficult to fill.
