Havent been able to find that out for sure, but I've seen that as some of the options. Maybe it's hidden in the press release somewhere?

In looking at various window stickers, I believe

21S = Lusso Manual
22S = Lusso Automatic
21D = Classica Manual
22D = Classica Automatic

I think in order to go deeper you will need to contact fiat, or what for the actual 124 brochure to be released.

I was told by my dealer you can NOT place an order for a Fiat 124. You basically ask for what you want and if they get it, all well and good. They can barter with other dealers in the country, but you cannot order a combination of options from the factory.

Is this true or is the dealer feeding me Italian Sausage?

Adding:
21C = Abarth Manual
22C = Abarth Automatic

An acquaintance found the same thing when shopping for a Miata. The order/production/delivery system may take time coming up to speed. A cost for being one of the first?

I experienced long waits for cars ordered from Europe but was in a position to be patient.

My preferred dealer told me the same. He said for approximately the first year, he was going to have live with his allocation, whatever it might be, until Fiat saw what the 124 demand was going to be for the new car.

I pretty much know what I want, so I'm down on his list for when something close may show up.

I happened to be speaking/bugging the GM of my local dealer and he must be getting tired of me because he introduced me to his DM who was at the dealerhip that day. I personally spoke with the DM and she explained that she gets assigned an allocation of cars at certain intervals and then she divies up the cars to her group of dealers. She did say her next allotment would be in August. So I made my specific requests to her of what I wanted. I must say that I was surprised to get a call from the sales manager this week as he had her on the phone and wanted to double check what body colrs and what interior colors I liked. I have stopped in and spoken with the next two closest dealers about putting me on the list when they have a 124 in stockhave but they have yet to reach out to me at all and I know they both have cars sitting on their lots already. In fact drove over to the one on Sunday when I was near so I could peek at the car in person.

Found what I wanted in stock at a dealer about 50 miles away. He just got his allotment in this month that he had been expecting in July. I got the Abarth manual model in aluminum with the Brembo brakes and Ricardo seat options. Feel lucky to have gotten it. Dealer offered a reasonable $2700 discount because he doesn't want to be sitting on his inventory all winter. In NE Ohio, 2 seater drop tops don't sell very well again until spring arrives in June.:)
