Is anyone else having issues updating the SatNav maps using the Map Update Toolbox? Worked fine the first time but now I get an error ' Update process interrupted... Etc' as soon as the download indicator gets to 100%
Fiat could only recommend visiting a dealer. Despite the Fiat website saying dealers could update maps they had no idea.... at all! They even suggested I contact TomTom! That would work, considering it's not a TomTom system
Contacted Naviextras and they actually sounded as though they knew what they were talking about but after sending files off my SD card to them, they 'couldn't replicate the problem' and went on to suggest all the things I'd already told them I'd done in my first email, new SD card, cleared cache/temp folders, anti virus and firewall off.
Nothing, now have 3 years updates without the ability to update.

I had that happen to me once, I thought it might be because the laptop went to sleep. I don't know if that was the problem, but I changed the laptop settings and I was able to successfully update.

It took a Long Long Long time to do the update... Well over 2 hours if I remember correctly.

Anyway, I hope you get it all sorted out somehow...

thanks Steve, I think my problem is a bit more reluctant to resolve. The download is about 7GB so will take a while depending on your connection speed.

As for getting the updates, for us in the UK this is the place to download the toolbox www.124spiderinfotainment.com, then it should be just a matter of connecting your SD card via USB and starting up the toolbox program, it will confirm that you have a valid card and a map update subscription and away you go. That's how it should work anyway. You can also purchase subcriptions for maps, traffic data etc.

That is actually the site where I got my map updates... The American site wasn't working at the time. It is in Ameridan's blog.

Now that I think about it, without the UK, I would be screwed. Not only did I get the nav update from the UK, I also got all of the Abarth red bits, the red dash vents, and the Abarth engine cover from the UK...

Well done UK!

Updating maps, speed cameras etc When we got our car, the maps were nearly a year out of date.
Ok makes sense. In my 2012 Wrangler unlimited and my 2015 Ram truck, FCA wants $160.00 to buy an upgrade. Are these free in the Fiat?

They're free for 3 years from the date your car hits 63 miles.

I think that's when your VIN is written to the SD card, so it can't be used in a different vehicle.
Would have never guessed it, thanks

I also have problems updating the maps where it worked fine before. The error message says, it could be due to storage space, corrupt card or network problems. I also tryed everything: different computers (both mac and windows) different SD card etc etc.
In the end I also went to the dealer, who also didn’t have a clue. I left my SD card there as I had a working copy. They are still working on it :-(

Aha, I am sorry you too are having problems but I am also quite pleased that it isn't just me. Amusing that it says on the Fiat website that if you don't have PC your local dealer will update the maps for you. Even Fiat Customer Care were surprised that the dealer didn't know where to start or, in fact, which system was in the car.

I have tried just about everything. The last thing I tried was to delete everything from the contents folder (not the folder itself) and use the toolbox restore function to restore the first backup I made when everything was working fine. This worked perfectly making a full restore to the card which eliminates any issues with my system, my network, my SD card and also the software itself. This to me means the only thing that isn't working as it should is the downloaded update itself. Mine stops just after the download reaches 100% and starts to put stuff in the 'contents' folder but stops after a only few Mbs max (sometimes only Kbs).

I contacted Naviextras who actually supply the toolbox and map updates. They so far have denied there is a problem as they can't replicate it their end but I am now fairly confident that the problem is indeed with them ie something in the update file.

If you wanted to contact them I went through their support page here https://www.naviextras.com/shop/portal/support?selectedTab=contactus There website is pretty awful but their response time was very good. A few more people reporting the same problem might just nudge them into trying a bit harder.

The only other possibility is that the next update will be OK and everything will start to work again.

I'm having the same problem. Of course I contacted the Abarth Customer Service and they just suggested me to go to a dealer and ask them. Now waiting to complete the famous 100Km/65mi and try again.
At least 3 of us now. At least I can stop tearing out what little is left of my hair as I am now 99% confident that this is a problem with the current update file, especially as I can restore to an earlier version without issue.
I am still in contact with Naviextras and am waiting for their techs to get back to me after feeding back the info in my previous post.
I'll update as soon as they do.
In the meantime I'm sure it would help greatly if anyone else with the problem reported it to Naviextras, I do think the issue is with them. I wouldn't hold out much hope of the dealers sorting anything and Fiat Customer services are very friendly and try to help but again, not really much use.
