I re-did it again, took less time, cause the download was already done and it was a question to write on the SD caard. Now Map is updated.

Actually, it's an ad where someone is selling discount SD card nav cards for our cars and the ad states it has the latest map updates on them.

Is it the most recent version of the nav data? Maybe. But I get bad vibes from that ad for a couple of reasons.

First, I've never heard of even MOPAR official sales outlets having cards for sale with the latest map content on them. Maybe this seller has a special source and it's all legit.

Second, these are theoretically the same cards that dealers and OEM resellers retail for in excess of $400. In some cases, way more than $400. So a price of $50 sounds a bit sus.

If you look beyond those two concerns, and it ends up the card does indeed have the latest content from end of last year, and actually works in our vehicles... the big question that remains is if that same card can actually be updated at the NaviExtras site using the Toolbox app that's required to do so. You may not have read this entire thread, or the others here on the forum tied to navigation cards for our Spiders, but here's the short version of what we've learned over the past years.

Some time ago, there were cards sold on eBay and other sites for a small fraction of the OEM cost. Most of them worked when installed in the vehicles, and in the early years owners could update the content on those cards as well. But the folks who provide the nav data content (NaviExtras) picked up on this and managed to find a way to confirm if an unused card had been copied and sold multiple times. Now when owners of those discount cards attempt to update them, they are rejected as fraudulent because NaviExtras sees them as knock-offs. If more than one copy of a card shows up on the NaviExtras portal looking for an upgrade, it's considered a fraudulent cope and can never be updated.

If these cards do work, and the buyer is okay with paying 35 quid or $50 for 2022 map content that can't be updated, then it's an option for them to consider. Since the cards are now nearly impossible to source from dealers (even if a person is willing to pay the premium price for them), they seem to be back-ordered till hell freezes over. The only other option is to mod the vehicle so Carplay and Android Auto can be used with a smartphone, or use the smartphone in a holder, or use a 3rd party nav device like a Garmin stuck to the window.

So have you purchased on of the cards from this seller? If so, see if you can update it using the Toolbox app. If you have, and you can update it, you may have found the Holy Grail for a lot of Spider owners here on the forum.

My install with the toolbox failed, and I don't know how to try again without buying it again. The download was successful, but I don't know where to find it. Anybody have any ideas?
What browser did you use?

I"m assuming you've driven the required 60 miles with the card in your vehicle to VIN lock it. I honestly don't know if the Toolbox would validate the card for updates until you've done that, but since it allowed you to download the data to your Mac, I "think" the card is properly VIN locked to your car.

I would suggest launching the Toolbox app again and logging into it. Insert the SD card and see if it allows you to proceed with the update. Since the data has already been downloaded, it shouldn't need to perform that step again. It would begin the download process but within seconds kick into the copy to card process. Hopefully that works, otherwise, you may need to find a Windows PC and go through the Toolbox install on it... then launch it and log in using the credentials you created when you first accessed it on your Mac. You could then insert your SD card, and hopefully it would be validated and allow you to re-download the data for a card update. If you go to the

If this doesn't work, you'll be at the mercy of NaviExtras and their "support" team.

I'm speculating all this based on the theory that your purchase was for a map update version, not simply a single download of the content. You can run the Toolbox on many different machines, but for it to work, you would need:
  • a valid VIN-locked SD navigation SD card
  • an account with NaviExtras that you would use to login on the Toolbox app
  • adequate space on your hard drive/SDD to store the downloaded content (around 7GB)

I'm still running on a subscription, so until this coming October I don't see limitations on my download frequency. Unfortunately they don't offer the 3 year subscription anymore, so single map updates are the only choice now.

If you want to confirm what you've purchased and have access to, go to www.naviextras.com, and login using the same credentials you use on the Toolbox app. You'll then see the following screen:

Click on the orange "choose" button for the left window (infotainment Fiat/Abarth).
Then on the next screen:

Hover over the "Cart & History" tab, then select "update history" from the drop down menu.
You'll then see your purchase, and one of the items listed will be "show invoice". You can then see what you purchased, and download a copy of the invoice if you don't already have one.

Hope this helps...
