Recently removed SD card and plugged into my Mac to see if any map updates were available (using ’map update toolbox’. None were available, so put SD card back into Spider. However, now nav won’t load - just get the spinning clock! Have tried resetting infotainment system, disconnecting battery, cleaning SD card etc, but nothing solves issues. Fiat and dealer been worse than useless with a solution! Any help appreciated 🙏🏻

Yes, it's a genuine card. I bought the car from new and the dealer supplied the card.
OK.

A few more thoughts/questions !!!

1. Where approx are you in the UK ?
2. Ensure your phone/devices are unpaired (no Bluetooth connection).
3. Ensure nothing connected to the cars USB/Aux points.
4. Remove the sdCard..... does the Infotainment screen work OK, do you get the "Compass" screen ?
5. What link are you using to access map updates ?
6. Have you ever updated the sdCard in the past ?

1. I'm in Kingston upon Thames area.
2. I did have phone paired, so I will try without.
3. Nothing else connected.
4. Yes, everything else works, and I get compass screen.
5. I used the Map Update Toolbox app on my iMac – no updates were available though.
6. No, never tried before.

Is a replacement SD card easily available to buy, or is it a bit more complicated as it's linked to my particular Spider?

OK

Too your last point, there are counterfeit cards on ebay/Amazon. They may or may not work. They cannot be updated.

A genuine card retails at ~£400. Sometimes They are on offer at ~£230 ish.

You need to create/log in to your Naviextras account. Access through this link....

Create/login to your account.

Goto this page to view all available updates.....

Unpaired all Bluetooth devices, and even did factory reset of Infotainment system, but still doesn't work sadly! Blimey! Big outlay for new SD card, especially if that's not the issue! Does it sound like SD card has developed a fault to you?

When I follow that link I don't see any where to login/create an account? There's an update my maps page which is where I originally downloaded the Spider toolbox (see attached). I googled Naviextras and found a site where you can create an account. However, when I choose the Fiat nav system it's saying it's not available!

Not meaning to interject, but you know me... lol

I'm also wondering if the card VIN lock date is three years old by now. If memory serves, when your access to content expires we get a somewhat mysterious message using the Toolbox that seems to infer updates aren't available, but in fact it's simply because you need to purchase an extension to access them. @Arthur , the site you provided is the same URL I use to access my content for North America as well. Once @Dazzler uses that site, I suspect he'll be able to get registered and set up okay. Then it will simply be a matter of if he needs to purchase an extension to content access (or not).

Related aside: When you log into your account there @Arthur , does it show the system as being Toyota Visteon and Mazda Connect? That's what shows up on mine, and I've been using that site for over six years now. Everything works perfectly fine, but I just wanted to point that out in case the OP things something has gone wrong once they're registered their card. Once the registration is complete, and you look at the devices section, the Fiat Abarth device shows up under the Toyota Visteon section. Perhaps slightly odd, but perfectly functional.

Hi CDPond..... the answer to your question....
"Related aside: When you log into your account there @Arthur , does it show the system as being Toyota Visteon and Mazda Connect?".... is yes.
Once the car/user is registered the site will show the Fiat Infotainment screen.

Regards the car being over 3 years old, map updates from time zero to 36 months should still show as "Free" once the VIN has been registered.

If we can get to this point with Dazzler we should be able to recover his card.
