Hi
Just wondered why/where the shark fin antenna is on the UK models? Is this used for DAB radio?

Have the USA got a better specced 124?

as far as i can tell, if you do not have the Premium Package with satellite radio you do not get the shark fin, even if you have a 7.0 radio that is nav ready in the technology package. You have to have the premium package to get the shark fin. just earlier today i heard a blurb from someone some place asking if you could upgrade install sat. radio to the 7.0 after sale. that is the first i had heard of such a thing, and did not think was possible.

Thanks for that, the lusso comes with DAB in the UK & I see a lot of new cars with the shark fin antenna now inc. mazdas and I was wondering if the rear wing aerial did just am/fm or DAB as well which seems unlikely? We don't have satellite radio in the UK as far as I'm aware.

That was me, asking if Sirius could be installed after market. My salesman lied to me, when I was buying my car. Sirius in my car was 1 of 2 priorities in buying a new car. He told me the car was wired for it and I would just have to have it downloaded. Come to find out, it must be factory installed ! Can't ship my car back to Japan, so I'm stuck.

What is DAB, is that satellite radio? When I told about satellite radio to my European friends they looked at me like I'm from Mars.
FWIW our Lusso did not come with satellite radio. But I would be surprised if the car was not wired for it, I doubt they would have two different wiring harnesses. In other cars I have installed cruise control and rear wipers on models without them, and the wiring was already there.

Another reason why I speak to a number of people, in dealerships you don't always find the best and the brightest even when it comes to products they sell or just direction on what to do. If they work in sales, even worse, if your not buying they don't want you around.

My Salesman was Awesome, but there were SO many things I had to tell him about the car, lol.. Great guy... I have dealer carwashes free for life... He said, just bring it in anytime.... and the dealer is only like 5 minutes away !!


He said, their whole Dealership agreed, that My Car was the nicest 124 Lusso they've had yet with the color combo and stick... SCORE !!! =)
