I had it on my Dart, and I had a boost gauge on my Dart, so I could see that it works as advertised, holding boost for those times the throttle plate closes briefly, like between shifts. With my 124 being 1000 pounds lighter, I can actually feel that it is holding boost between shifts. Well worth it for this car.
Wow - that's a clean car! I'm saving that to my pictures folder.
I did the DV+ too, but it was so soon after getting my car that I did not have much of a chance to detect any problems. FWIW, I am unimpressed with the flimsy construction of the stock part. That inner partition essentially fell apart as I very carefully removed it. It's easy to see why this part has issues on other cars.
best regards,
Pete
Shark, your car looks very nice. I am sure you are finding that this engine in a car that weighs 800 pounds less than a Dart is pretty fun. I think the engine and this chassis are a good match.
Eurocompulsion Euro+Drive Phase 1 tune installed. I took it for a quick spin tonight after the install. The car pulls much harder now, and earlier. The shifts are also quicker, which is a huge plus. It's a different car now, and the way it should have come from the factory.
Hi Sharkcohen, I ran into the same issue. I planned on either notching as you suggest or cut the angled down piece off entirely. What size washers did you use. I measured a 3/8 inch rise with those coils.
I'm sure someone will start making covers. Possibly grimmspeed? I think they used to make covers for the 86s and what not that weren't carbon and costed an arm and a leg. For now a dremel tool is probably the best bet and shouldn't be too difficult.
I was out at 500 Madness (in Texas) last week and they are working on a replacement cover that will clear larger aftermarket coils. No timeline was mentioned, but interest will likely expedite progress on the project.
regards,
Pete
Looks clean Shark! Does the antenna actually help with the radio reception? KFOG doesn't come in too well for me, but I've been spoiled for years with Sirius in my other car. Looking at options...
Ok...I'm not unhappy with the current one...waiting for red trim piece for my Abarth...red tow hook is on.
