When starting the engine, all the icons light up and one in particular is the skidding car icon. In the event of a skid how does that operate?

When starting the engine, all the icons light up and one in particular is the skidding car icon. In the event of a skid how does that operate?
The light lets you know if traction control is disengaged. By default, it is engaged. You can turn the traction control off if you want a bit more of a 'sporting' driving experience. It makes it easier to throw the rear end out during cornering.

I think it lights up when you skid (Just in case you didn't notice!).
It just means that the traction control system is doing something.
