Can a shark antenna and XM radio be added to a Lusso if you did not order the premium package. I know you can upgrade to nav my dealer says $800 which seems like a lot for just an SD CARD and placing it into a slot.
Anyone with info on the Cm radio upgrade please contact me at [email protected]

that is way too much for the SD map card. is has a MSRP of like $400. call to another dealer and find one who will let you order and ship it to you. you definitely DO NOT need to have a dealer install it, you pop the cover off and just slip it in, computer handles the rest. though if you want it to be covered under your warranty you need to have a dealer add it as a dealer installed option, i can you get that accomplished if you want.

First time I've heard that the nav card has no warranty if not "installed by a dealer". Where did that come from? The $399 card has no warranty unless you pay an additional $100-$400 (depending on the dealer)?

unless things have changed, over the counter mopar parts are usually 12/12 warranty. where if it is installed when the car is new it gives it the same basic warranty as the car in this case 4/50

Just got off the phone with Fiat Customer Service who said they contacted their U-connect Radio specialist (??) and were told that XM could not be added aftermarket. I seriously doubt this as the radio is not changed when you order the premium package all that is added is the Bose system which is a sound system. The XM harness I guess hooks into the Bose sound system and has a connector that goes to the Radio XM connector. I think that you should be able to connect directly into the Radio thru the XM connector with a modulator if you adapt the modulator connector to work with the Radio connector and then wire the modulator to a shark fin on the trunk roof. It would seem that Fiat wants to sell the package only and not supply a after market harness and shark fin.
I have been told that installing the SC card for Nav initializes the XM portion of the Radio and only a antenna is required and maybe a modulator. I will be getting my SD card in a few weeks and will then go to my Radio Local installers who will attempt to see if they can install the XM to my radio. Lots of different answers about this so hopefully someone will respond when they actually install the XM to their Vehicle.

if someone has the time and a friend in the parts department at a dealer i am sure you could pick out the missing parts and add it to your car but at what price?

And how would the price compare to just using your smartphone and bluetooth to stream Pandora/Spotify/Amazon Prime Music/etc? Maybe $5/mo. for extra cell data. Plus no XM DJs and being able to pick the exact songs you want filtered by playlists, albums, artists, and stations. Also, your phone's nav (Waze or Google Maps) will likely perform better than the factory Nav. If only there were a way to output the phone's screen to the touchscreen.

Update from the dealer Tucson dodge where I purchased my SD Card. I received this mail from them yesterday.
"Good morning Kenneth. I found out that there is no registration required and the card that you have is the most updated card available. In 18 months, FCA recommended that you call to see if they offer new updates and there after. The gentleman stated that it would come in a USB stick and runs $149.00. The phone number you would need to contact is 866-962-8837. Please let me know if I can assist you further. Have a great day"
A little hard to believe. I'm of the belief that one needs to register your vin# with Fiat so you can get updates??
