First mod was the license plate bracket for the front, but that was only a necessity (and I hate having a big ugly plastic bracket in the middle of the front bumper).

This time, though, I got to do something a little for race and a little for show. All springs are stainless steel. Rear is springs only, since the decklid already has them. They're just smaller diameter and lighter weight than stock (and look way cooler). Lid also opens slightly higher, too, because the SS end links are slightly longer than the nylon ones. Hood gets brackets attached to upper and lower hinges, and twin springs. Brackets are cut from tempered extruded aluminum angle (so no bends, which weakens aluminum unless you re-establish temper). Additional weight up front is minimal, since the OE prop rod got removed when it was all done. Great thing is the hood opens further than stock, so it's easy to work near the firewall without whacking my head.
